It was filled with finely ground silver, a potent weapon against vampires. The vampire, enraged by her failed attack, charged again. This time, Cassie stood her ground, waiting for the perfect moment. As the vampire got close, she blew a puff of the silver dust directly into its face. "FUCK!" The vampire hissed in pain and surprise, its eyes stinging and momentarily blinded. Cassie didn't hesitate. She delivered a sharp, powerful blow to it's throat, disorienting it further. Then, with a quick, practiced motion, she plunged Lorenzo's silver knife deep into its heart. The vampire’s body went limp, crumbling into dust and ash.

Aleister couldn’t control that child’s mind because he was a Lycan but it didn’t ease the bad feeling inside me or her. “ Spill it, Dustin. ” Striker huffed, shaking his hand. His fingertips were glowing orange but with a few more shakes, his reddened skin appeared from underneath that shine. Dustin stood on our left, at some distance, looking ahead. I followed his line of sight, but all my eyes met was the Dark Veil that hid the trees.

“Take it. But please be careful.” I looked at the bottle as I said, “this will work on him? For long enough” “Not long," she said, "but it might be enough to do what needs to be done." I glanced down at the vial in my hand again. I had heard of Oblivion’s Kiss before, rare and hard to find. It was sometimes used in wars to make enemies fall asleep before they were beheaded. A coward’s tactic, maybe, but it wins the war.

It was the color of Lyra’s true shadow, the one forged in the Forbidden Forest, the one that the Clean Room Protocol had tried so desperately to filter out. "Sovereign! We hear the silence!" The voice didn't come from a single throat. It was a collective roar, a broadcast of ancestral rage that shattered the first layer of the porcelain floor. From the violet light above, figures began to descend. They didn't fall; they struck. The Obsidian Vanguard had returned.

Finish Minnie, smirking. "But nice try though," Johan smirked. "Good job," says a voice that clearly is from a voice changer. We all look back to the television, the screen is now purple. "You may enter, liberos meos." I smile proudly, watching the wall behind the desk slowly opens to a tunnel. Still smiling, I enter the tunnel behind Kelly and Britt. I was so proud of myself after taking down Hade, that I didn't notice Scout was tense ever since La Reu spoke.

That’s what I thought, and that’s what I asked. Gilbert gazed at me deeply: “Julian, I’ve found out that Bessie gave you the special medicine that night, which caused you to hemorrhage and almost die.” “I also investigated the driver who killed you in the previous life and discovered that he was actually Bessie’s distant cousin...” “I was wrong. I didn’t expect is an undercover agent sent by my enemy, and she even wanted to take your life, in order to get rid of you.” “She was already pregnant when she returned to the country. My enemy hopes to bring down the Veronatri with an impure heir.”

Their leader wore a crown of thorns, blackened bone etched in runes, and her weapon was a chained sickle that sang when it moved. The summit erupted. Vampires bled. Hybrids fell. Witches screamed spells that turned stone to flame, but the Dustborn were faster. Too fast. Too coordinated. Kael drew steel, calling orders to the surviving guards. Saphira was already bleeding but grinning, slicing through three masked assassins with brutal grace. A Dustborn priest levelled a cursed staff at Kael, and was incinerated before he could speak. The fire didn’t come from Kael.

I follow soon after, burying myself as deep as possible, marking her from the inside while whispering dark, filthy truths against her ear. Afterward, we lie tangled on her narrow bed, breathing ragged, sweat cooling on our skin. The diamond ring still sits on the desk like an accusation. Mirella turns her head to look at me. Her voice is quieter now, but no less stubborn. “You’re going to get us both killed one day with this obsession.” I stroke her hair, fingers possessive even in the aftermath. “I’ll kill everyone else first.” She huffs a tired laugh. “You’re impossible.”

I snapped, pushing past her to open the window wider. “Asphyxia. That's the medical term that covers the entire…concept of suffocation. Just so you know, you know. But it's not like I was trying to kill you, or me. We're too young, and I'm incapable of murder, you know that. I've only ever killed geckos since I was born…” She rambled, trailing off when she saw my death stare. I admit, I was more pissed at the fact that her charred whatever woke me up from my dream. I wished I heard everything my father had to say, but unfortunately, I got woken up abruptly.

My eyes rolled back. "Mm," I moaned. I felt every press of his fingers. It sent chills through my veins. A smile tugged across my lips. The next moment, I snapped out of it. I jumped off the bronze chair and turned swiftly to look into his eyes. Those blue piercing eyes were gone, replaced by deep crimson ones. "You aren't Mitchel," I said, trying to convince myself that everything he said was fake. "No matter what you think, I will remain Zarchios," he said.
