Because I know there isn’t a hunter named Olivia.” I smiled. “As expected from an information broker. Vi is what I go by mostly. Olivia is a little too girly for me.” Marcus chuckled. “Vi as in Vi the Slayer? You’re kidding right?” I shrugged but hissed as the pain in my shoulder shot through my arm. The lord of the vampires, what you term as blood suckers." "I don't care what you call yourself but I warn you to stay away from me and my wife." The vampire lord chuckled, throwing back his hood to reveal a deathly pale face with long sharp fangs.

I grabbed him on his neck once more before throwing his lifeless body to the side. The other rogues were obviously distraught. They too changed into their wolf forms. They stepped backward, ears straightened up and bared their teeth. I was ready to take down another one of them when the gray wolf transformed into his human self. “Who the fuck are you?” he asked. Judging by his demeanor, he looked like the leader of this disgusting gang. With that, I too changed into my human form. Looking at him with rage, I uttered, “My name is Hunter. I am here to kill all of you.”

"What about you? Can you tell me your name?" I paused for a moment, unsure whether to reveal my true identity. But there was something about him, something in the way he looked at me, that made me want to believe him. "Lily, Lily McGregor." Adrian's face lit up with surprise, as if my name meant something. His eyes widened slightly as a flash of recognition passed through them. "Lily McGregor," he said quietly again, as if testing the name on his tongue. "The daughter of the renowned pack hunter, Robert McGregor?"

A massive vampire stepped into the ring, cracking his knuckles. “Ready for a round?” he asked, raising his gloves. Hunter nodded, stepping in. The guy wiped the floor with him, though Hunter managed to land a couple of decent hits. “Not bad,” the vampire said after the bell rang. “But you’re too pissed off to focus. Loosen up.” He stepped out of the ring, then suddenly cut in front of Hunter as he was leaving. “Name’s Han,” he said, wiping sweat off his brow. “Throwing a party this Saturday. Exclusive, if you catch my drift. You look like you could use, some fun.” He extended his hand, and Hunter reluctantly handed over his phone.

Some time later, heavy footsteps echoed against the concrete floor. A tall, well-built man stepped in. A jagged scar stretched from his left eye to the corner of his right lip, twisting his already sinister expression into something downright terrifying. Though his frame was lean, every movement he made carried the weight of someone who had broken more bones than one could count. This was Hunter, the right-hand man of the Black Vipers. Whose name sent chills through the underworld. Even Vince, who had been calm all along, unconsciously straightened his back when Hunter’s gaze swept over him.
