I said as I moved closer to h and put my palm on his forehead. He looked at me with a kind of, 'what are you doing', facial expressions. "What are you doing?" He asked as he removed my palm from his forehead. "Stay still---" I said as I put my palm back. "I am just checking your temperature." I added. "Your body is cold." I said. "I told you that vampires are cold blooded. Do you forget things so quickly." He said to me with a frown as usual. "I didn't forget. I will get going now." I said as I held the knob of the door.

Alexis turned and joined me in the living room where he stood with his hands clasped behind him. I shook my head. "Oh, Alexis, this is trouble," I said as I looked at Monica, my progeny, my child, my friend. "Why me? Why is my vampire so different from everyone else's?" I drew others to me as if I was a pot of honey swarmed by bees. "You have unintentionally bonded with a great many people. Bonds represent the type of love that is … difficult to disregard. Creating a vampire child is among the biggest." "These are not just bonds, Alexis! These are individuals pledging their undying love to me!"

He’d kill her if he did it again. Since he laid eyes on this wolf, she’s been nothing but trouble. Causing him such flustered effects and getting away with it. He had to know what it was about. So he kissed her. At first he thought nothing of it but then the sensuality grew. He knew something drew him to the woods that far. It was like witch craft pulling him like a sirens song. He knew something would happen, just not this. Vampires don’t mate. They don’t even know the meaning of love much less create an undeniable bond with someone. Sure they procreate, but it’s meaningless.

She sighed feeling relieved. “Just like you feel around my brother.” Colby raised an eyebrow. She paused, pulling away from him. “This is a joke, isn't it?” Lynette reprimanded. “No. I needed some relationship advice. My brother has feelings for you and I want the best for him and myself,” He could tell. “When a human becomes a vampire, everything they feel becomes exacerbated. We can love at first sight but as time flies, we try to get it under control because sometimes we can hurt the people we love.” He explained to her hoping that she would comprehend.

That couldn't be further from the truth. My mom is the vampire, and my dad is the angel. He fell in love with her, and Mom initially wanted nothing to do with him. Vampires can have mates like shifters, but sometimes they're resistant to them. She kept denying that Dad was her mate. She fell in love with him when he finally convinced her to give him a chance, and they had me. I know it's not your typical love story. Vampires are usually associated with hell and evil, while angels are looked upon as good and sent from the gods. Who can deny love?

Chloe reached for her man’s hand, and he gripped it tightly. “Now, the rules,” the vampire continued, pacing like a game show host. “You’ve got six days and nights before you’re fully dead. Right now, you’re in limbo. Survive, and you can join us or return to your miserable little lives. Rule two: You must fall in love. This is about romance, and we adore romance. Hell, they write books about us.” He laughed, and Chloe felt a chill crawl up her spine. Rule three: You can’t say it with words. Ever.

Apparently, last-night-me had decided we were now writing about vampires. Specifically, a vampire falling in love with a woman hunted by his kind. She was brave. He was tortured. There was a scene where he saved her from a rogue and then watched her sleep while battling his own thirst. I skimmed through it, cheeks heating. It was good. Embarrassingly good. And clearly inspired by a certain brooding neighbor who refused to stay out of my subconscious.

THEY SAID IN a vampire's lifetime, love and romance are crucial things. Unlike humans, they are only capable of being in love with one vampire for their whole life. The moment you found yours, it's impossible to set your eyes on another one. Together, you will have each other forever. It's both a curse and a gift. That's why vampires value marriage more than anything. It is more than a tradition, or bloodline ties, something deep like love bounds to keep two vampires together eternally.

Although I constantly denied it, she gave us our privacy. In fact, I've never been emotionally involved with anyone in my life. Before I was turned, there were suitors, but never anyone special. I definitely know what love is and have the capacity for it, but never fell in love. In fact, vampires can love more completely and fully than humans ever thought possible, and when we surrendered ourselves to it, it was complete.

The craving to be loved is a desire that every mortal, and believe me when I say, that every Vampire does have. Now how do you love? You love with your heart and your head, your instinct and your experience. Should you lack any of these, there shall always be another way; you shall find a way to complete that perfect love that dreams and fantasy are made of. If you do not live with wanting that fairytale ending for yourself, then what is it worth dreaming for in the first place.
