And you can sense it, but normally it’s another vampire, so you get down to business straight away. There’s no complication, no courting, no dating. There is nobody better for you out there, and there never will be.” “Wow,” she breathed, leaning both her elbows on the table. “That’s so romantic. And Skye is your – your nightmate?”

She heaved a sigh and left the room. She went back to her classes as the break was finally over.

You wanna go for a walk?” he asked and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, only if he knew what he just did. He just invited a vampire for a walk, in the sun. Good thing I’m a day lighter. “Sure.” I said and stood up from the chair I was seated. “So, what do you wanna talk about?” He asked swinging his arms beside him while staring at my face making me a little more uncomfortable than I already am.

“Oh! Honey that is wonderful. You found your mate!” “NOOOOOOO…. Dad, you got to be kidding. I can’t be mated! I mean I just got a divorce and wait I can’t be mated to a vampire. He isn’t Pure-Blooded or anything. I mean I don’t think so! No, maybe he is a made vampire and that is why it was so strange I didn’t even detect him at the school….” She goes off on a verbal tangent while her dad tries to inject.

With the enemy defeated and the darkness pushed back, the vampire world was filled with a newfound sense of hope and joy.
