We can't walk out amongst the sun. It'll burn us and destroy us. You'll have to remember that. Since you're a fledgling you also will discover it's hard for you to stay awake. Especially as dawn approaches. You may also sleep hours after dusk. This is just because you're still transforming. It'll take you five years until you can be like Pierre is now." I gave her a smile. "If you have any follow up questions to anything I tell you, please ask." She nodded and then looked at me thoughtfully.

What are they talking about? Upon entering the room, I was enveloped in a coldness that calmed me down. I immediately took off my clothes, before taking a shower. It's already 3 in the morning, we vampires don't sleep. We rest but we never sleep. One of the abilities that are very different from humans. We will just lie on bed and close our eyes but we are still all aware of what is happening around us. I didn't know vampires had a different sleep method. “Well, as a vampire, I can stay awake for decades and then fall into a deep slumber for a year, and that will tide me over for another decade, and if I stretch it, I can do almost a century.” He explained “Wait, what? So you don't sleep. You've not been sleeping all this while” I asked.

Gasping for air and renewed strength, she gently pulled until she felt the bone lock into place before releasing it and allowing her hands to flop onto the bed. Here’s one for the movies, she thought bitterly, I wonder if Dracula would be so damned popular if humans knew he felt physical pain. Beads of sweat coated her brow from the exertion. They selected the daylight hours to do this since they were in a weakened state then anyway. Vympires required very little sleep; not more than a few hours

Alex Vampires generally don’t need sleep. By sleep, I mean the deep, vulnerable kind that allows dreams to fade into focus and a body to go slack. Vamp kids, sure. They sleep all the time, but once our biological clock starts to slow, once necessary things like sleep make less of a difference in our overall performance, we generally don’t do it.
