She goes to the local pub to help out her friend, the owner of the pub, Molly, instead. Then the two princes walk in, and they just can't keep their eyes off her. She's confused, she's fat, and not that pretty, what the fuck is up with them? But then they're kind to her, and honest. It's a nice change of pace, and they're handsome enough, maybe she should let them in?

“Hey Mal?” Asher walks into their shared office in their house, having just gone to get some coffee.“Yes, Ash?” His twin brother looks up from the paperwork that’s strewn across the desk in front of him, he looks as tired as Asher feels, his short black hair is dishevelled as he’d been running his hands through it over and over looking for some trace of what’s actually going on with their shipments. Malachi has a head for people, not numbers. That’s Asher’s thing, but Mal had offered to help, and Asher had accepted his help.Someone’s messing with their shipments, they had proof of that on video, but they had yet to find anything on paper, their import export business is running perfectly on paper. But someone, somehow, is adding and removing multiple crates from their warehouse on the docks. And yet somehow all the numbers are accurate on their end and the supplier’s end. Chapter 2 – Asher
Mal looks at Ash and he smiles broadly,“I think I might like her, a lot.” Ash laughs and nods back,“Same here, let’s head in for a drink and see what we can learn about our mystery bouncer.” Mal groans,“Oh, don’t go giving me ideas, I’m already struggling to control myself here.” Ash laughs again, clapping his brother on the back before making his way into the pub. The inside of the pub is a quintessential rural English pub, dark beams span the relatively low ceiling, they don’t need to stoop here, but there isn’t a huge amount of clearance above their heads either. There are various horse brasses hung up by the fireplace, where the fire is going gently.It might not be that cold outside, but it is November and it takes the chill out of the room. The floor is wide oak planks that are remarkably flat considering the age of the place. Chapter 3 – Asher
There were a few moments of confusion in the bar then a loud explosion that rattled the glass bottles on the shelves behind the bar. The old lady rushes for the door at the back of the bar and shouts through it,“GIRL, are you okay?” it must lead downstairs,“I’m all good, Moll. Just don’t come down here yet. You’ll just get sad; I promise I’ll fix it. Just never let Jack near this thing again.” The old lady sags, and sighs, then whispers,“My distillery…” She sounds so sad; it nearly breaks Ash’s heart. She wipes a tear from her eye, then turns back to the bar to continue serving, sniffing gently. Two patrons come over to offer condolences to the lady, who Ash now knows is called Molly. A few minutes later the redhead came up to the back of the bar. She looked as if she’d been soaked,“Molly.” She sighs, “I’m sorry, I know I smell awful, the barrel of cleaning liquor got hit by a large chunk of copper that flew off the boiler and I got drenched in the stuff. She carries a tray of drinks for one group of people over to a table in the corner, making it look easy, carrying ten pints of beer on a large tray over her head, to make room for the people around her to move. She also has on some pale blue near-skin-tight jeans that more than flatter her magnificent and curvaceous arse. The way they stretch as she bends to place the tray on the table has him looking away to regain some composure.He notices Mal’s also staring, and he nudges him in the leg with his foot, so that he isn’t staring at her when she turns back around. Mal looks out the window to the front of the pub and notices an odd couple making their way over, a man who looks like an old Mexican, complete with the tired looking cowboy hat, tired looking jeans, and a green checked flannel shirt. He looks like a nice older guy, dark skin with a few lines to show his age, a grey moustache and dark brown eyes that are crinkled with warmth as he looks upon his companion.His companion is the odder of the two. He’s a seven-and-a-half-foot tall Gargoyle, with deep blue-green skin. He’s wearing dark grey trousers which have long zips up the sides to allow him to get in and out of them, but no shoes, as his feet are wide and long with long claws. His hands are also long and have claws, but these look shorter, more like long fingernails. He’s also wearing a loose dark-blue hoodie, with slits cut into the back to allow his wings free. The redhead bows her head slightly to Mal, and he smiles at her,“You’re very welcome, but you now have us at a disadvantage.” She laughs, it's light and wonderful,“I rather think I did from the get-go. “Say that again Joey. I fucking dare you.” Her voice is low, and the hand he’s holding the gun in is shaking a little. A moment later she snatches the gun from his hand when he blinks. Even Ash barely sees the movement, except for his heightened senses allowing him to see it happen almost in slow motion, but it’s still fast. When she has the gun, she takes a step back dismantling the gun as she walks backwards.She makes room for the machete that’s swinging upwards, seemingly slowly because of the way his brain is processing the images. She swings her leg around and catches his hand holding the machete, which flies from his grasp and skitters across the road away from them. He takes a couple of steps back as she rights herself and moves to stand between him and the machete. He’s quaking now, either with fear or anger, Ash couldn’t tell. But she clenches her fists and scoffs,“Just what I thought, afraid of a woman who’ll stand up to you. You’re just a, weak. Little. Man.” She rolls he

The redhead tilts her head then nods,“I’m thirty-six at the moment, but my birthday is coming up soon.” She shrugs when Kai looks surprised, “You did tell me how old you were, it only felt fair.” He grins and nods, “So, tell me something about yourself Kai.” She rests her chin on her hands, showing off her cleavage wonderfully. “They all live together? A commune or something? There’s no way they’re a cult.” Kai whispers to Ash, who chuckles softly, shaking his head and taking a sip of his drink.“Could be the same apartment building or something. Why did you jump to cult?” Kai sighs and puts his head down, taking a larger sip of the mamajuana. It really is incredible stuff, and she’d received it as a gift, from whom and what for? He pulls out his phone again to search for the brand of the drink, wondering how much it is per bottle. He finds the stuff on an online auction site and nearly spits out the mouthful he had. Ash frowns at him,“Careful. What’s up with you?” Ash slaps him on the arm as Kai chokes softly then holds out the phone to Ash for him to see the current auction bid for a bottle of the stuff they’d been drinking.
