Vanessa Black Clover Novels & Stories

When she opened them again, Vanessa was standing by the window. Staring at the frozen lake. Chloe walked toward her. "Are you okay?" Vanessa didn't turn. "I don't know." Her voice was quiet. "I don't think I've been okay for a long time." Chloe stood beside her. Outside, snow drifted lazily from the sky. "It feels strange," Vanessa continued. "What does?" "Being here." She touched the glass. "I used to dream about escaping." Chloe looked at her. "From Arthur?" "From everything."

She screamed, pushing him off with trembling hands. Footsteps echoed. From the corner of the room stepped a woman. Jeans. Black gloves. Dark braid down her back. No hesitation in her eyes. Neva. "Wha–who are you?!" Vanessa gasped, staggering back, hands shaking. Neva didn’t blink. "This is your last warning." Vanessa stared in horror. "Get involved in Mr. Black’s business again... and you’ll be in pieces before your father even gets to bury you," Neva said, her voice like ice.

“You smile. You soak it in. And when people start asking who you are, you don’t flinch when they call you the Black Rose.” Aurora blinked. “That’s still going?” “It’s catching fire,” Skyler confirmed, her grin wider. “Vanessa’s already planning your next showcase. You’re not just part of the lineup now. You’re a name.” Aurora’s lips curved slowly, not in disbelief—but in recognition. Of a truth that had always lived beneath her skin, waiting for permission to bloom. She took a long sip, letting the bubbles crackle on her tongue. They drifted toward the bar, where Jeremiah offered her a mock salute and Lisa handed her a folded note.

Ivy stood on the edge, isolated from the other females who were already forming cliques. Then, a sudden spray of cold water hit her. It soaked her dress, the fabric clinging to her skin. She spun around, eyes blazing. Cole stood there, a wooden ladle in his hand, looking bored. “Cole Ryder, what is wrong with you?” she snapped. He didn't answer. He just scooped another ladle and threw it directly into her face. Her hair matted to her neck, dripping. “Just playing the game, Mercer,” he said. Ivy exploded. She grabbed a bucket and charged. The two of them began a frantic, splashing chase, disappearing into the thick ferns of the rainforest.

On top of that, my wolf was jumping with excitement at the mere thought that Chloe might be there. Without further ado, I went straight to the shower and then got ready for the big high-ranking event. When I was finally ready, I headed for the door, but before I could open it, Vanessa walked in, wearing a sexy black dress and huge shiny heels. Her hair was down and she wore light makeup. As soon as I saw her, my eyes widened. “What the hell are you doing here, Vanessa?” I asked as I looked down the hallway. She smiled and entered the room, forcing me to close the door.

tonight was different. The door behind him creaked. He froze. Didn't even turn around at first. Thought it was wind. Or the janitor. But then he heard it. The click. Of heels. Sharp. Slow. Deliberate. He turned. And there she was. Vanessa. Third year. Philosophy major. Always sat in the front row. Always had that look in her eyes—like she knew something he didn't. Like she was waiting. Tonight, she wore black. Not the usual university hoodie. A skirt. Tight. Leather. Knee length but somehow... not. Blouse half unbuttoned. Hair loose.

But from the second floor, the men in black saw that scene and met her petrified gaze. Clover immediately pushed through the sea of humans and ran to the parking lot as fast as she could. Every step behind her felt like a predator's. Panting, she crouched next to a huge black-tinted hybrid van. Her heart thumped against her skin so hard as if it were going to jump out of her chest. Beads of sweat streamed down her chin; shudders continued running down her spine. Staying close behind the vehicle, she prayed with all her might that they would not find her. Not again.

Every muscle in my body coiled tight, ready to strike. Vanessa had poisoned Evan Evergreen. Not some rogue element. Not a rival pack. Not even one of Evan's own enemies. Vanessa. The woman standing in my office. The woman I'd been sleeping with. The woman who'd been whispering in my ear for months about strategy and opportunity and taking what was owed to me. She'd committed an act of war against Blackridge. And she'd done it in my name. My vision tunneled. The edges went red and hazy. I could hear my own breathing, harsh and ragged, could feel my claws starting to extend.

Vanessa handed Hamish a badge and exclaimed excitedly, "Look at this!" Hamish frowned. "What is it?" "You don't know what this is?" Vanessa proudly added, "It’s a badge of the Black Den Headquarters. It proves I made it to the finals. I’m just one step away from becoming an official member. Do you live under a rock or something?" "I've heard of the Black Den, but I’ve never seen this badge." "So, am I amazing or what?" Hamish indulgently smiled. "So, that’s why you urged me to go back last night."

Next morning at Evelyn's mansion. It's currently 6:30 am and our dear Vanessa is still asleep with her legs and hands clutching a pillow each. The door to the room opened and Evelyn came in wearing a black sports bra that struggled hard to cover her cleavage and pink sweat pants. Her hair was tied in a ponytail with a pink ribbon. She held green and purple stripped headphones and an evil smirk surfaced on her lips. Time for revenge! She carefully walked to the bed and slowly climbed onto it, trying not to make a sound. If Vanessa got alerted, her plans would be ruined and she didn't want that, you know.
