Around us, wolves muttered, their loyalties already dividing the crowd.
“This ends tonight, Lucan,” Vrax said, his voice carrying over the murmurs. “No more hiding behind ideals. No more excuses. The pack needs strength, and I’ll show them what that looks like.”
I shifted into my wolf form without a word, my muscles coiled and ready. Vrax did the same, his hulking frame dwarfing mine but failing to intimidate.
The first clash was brutal. Vrax lunged, his claws slashing through the air as I dodged, his movements heavy but powerful. I countered with a swipe of my own, grazing his flank and earning a snarl of rage.
