The Wife He Threw Away

The Wife He Threw Away

“That’s interesting coming from you.” Victoria’s gaze lifted slowly. “You once took another man’s surname too,” I continued calmly. “Kilmartin, if I remember correctly.” Her expression hardened almost immediately. Good. Everyone in this room knew exactly what I meant by that. KVEK. The K belonged to Victoria Merlyn’s ex-husband. Even after the divorce, the name remained tied to the firm. It’s not like a law firm like ours could just easily change its name from KVEK to KVEM—reputation carried more weight than pride in this industry.

Author I'm really enjoying your story. I apologize for my bluntness with the reader who uses letters instead of actual words but I'm 'old school' where you say it up front and don't beat around the bush. I believe not using words but a bunch of nonsensical letters is rude and insulting !

Married To My Gay Bestfriend

Married To My Gay Bestfriend

He had left the country and never returned. His name had been Alistair something. Alistair Pembrooke. "Victoria, did Martin ever mention the name Pembrooke?" She thought for a moment. "Not that I recall. But the name sounds familiar. There was a family called Pembrooke who used to move in the same social circles as my parents. Old money. Shipping, I think. The father died years ago, and the son took over the business." "The son. Alistair Pembrooke."

The Vampire's Blind Mate

The Vampire's Blind Mate

It was a very popular name, there’s no way they could link it back to them. He stared at me. “The Chancey wife’s name was Victoria, you wouldn’t have any relationship with her, would you?” I hated the look he had to his face, as if he knew I was about to fib. I shook my head instead, just in case my mouth couldn’t mimic the resilience of my mind. He continued to stare as if not believing a word. “Last name” Damn! “Thomas” After a while and stares back and forth between the both of us, he scribbled again into his book sighing heavily before closing it.

Beneath the Winter Moon

“Can I ask you something? I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say your last name.” Celeste gave a small huff of laughter, the sound holding a trace of nerves. She took a deep breath. “Winters.” Victoria blinked. “Wait… what? I’m sorry, could you say that again?” “My last name… is Winters.” Celeste lowered her gaze to her hands, fingers twisting together. Both Victoria and Silas exchanged a glance, momentarily speechless. “Winters,” Victoria echoed, her voice rising with surprise. “As in the old royal Winters? The family that disappeared?”

RUINING MY WIFE

RUINING MY WIFE

The doctor asked. "My name, doesn't it mean anything to you?" Victoria asked proudly, as she had always been proud of her last name, despite the way she had been treated in that family. Once again, the doctor smiled and turned over the patient sheets to find the full name of the woman in front of her. It all seemed so strange to him. "Mrs. Victoria de Lambert," said the doctor, realizing that last name. She herself had cared for a Lambert, specifically she had tried to make his wife conceive.

Brandon looked at the detective waiting for him to ask whatever he wanted. “Please give us the full name of the woman.” Brandon got stuck, he didn’t know what Victoria’s last name was. Did her kind even have a last name? he didn’t know. “Her name is Victoria Roberts; she took my last name and never told me hers. She is an orphan though and I have no friends here as she is not from here.” The detectives shared a look. “You know what, I will find her myself since its clear that you don’t want to help.” Brandon snapped then left the detectives standing there and went out with his security detail.

she clarified. "Don't say something like that again. I would have changed my last name if I could." Victoria added, "I won't have any involvement with Roman and the rest." After hearing what she said, Yves smirked. "Well, you can always take Ben's surname. "Victoria Harper. Doesn't that sound more imposing than Victoria Jameson?" he asked Victoria. She immediately retorted, "I don't want to have the same last name as Zachary." "Let's ask Zachary to change his surname then," Benjamin chimed in.

CAUGHT BETWEEN WOLVES

CAUGHT BETWEEN WOLVES

"You're building an ancient bloodline out of a coincidence and a girl who nearly drowned in the Merisa pond yesterday." "I'm building a theory out of evidence, which is what you pay me to do," Victoria said, entirely unbothered by my tone, which was one of the reasons she'd kept her position through three alphas and a war. "Her mother's maiden name was Ashgrove. Does that mean nothing to you?" It meant something. I didn't like that it meant something. "Ashgrove was one of the surnames the twelve alphas were hunting during the purge. You know that as well as I do."

Alpha King Chases Abandoned Luna

Alpha King Chases Abandoned Luna

Victoria's excitement was palpable, her scent thick with triumph. She pulled out her phone and snapped a photo as Bernard dipped his pen in ink. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I didn't need to look to know Victoria had sent me the image, a final taunt before her victory was complete. Bernard began to write. "Stone..." The first character of Emma's new surname appeared on the sacred page. My wolf surged forward, lending strength to my voice as I called out: "Stop!"

Oh.god please not again. Victoria is out of the jail? What's wrong with this author? Is there no end to her lies and manipulation? I don't think the autjor is in the mood to end this story and give justice for Lily and Olivia. It seems like Victoria herself is writing this story

By Chapter 140 we’ve read several different versions of this story like the author can’t decide so just rewrites the scene a few times and leaves them all in, with so many inconsistencies it’s hard to keep track. It’s gut wrenching, but the plot constantly changes so you don’t get a cohesive story.

There’s something delicious about Victorian names—they clink like coins and rattle like carriage wheels. When I’m dreaming up a magician for that era, I like to split the work into three bits: a given name that feels grounded (Thaddeus, Lucien, Myra), a surname that carries history (Hawksmoor, Ravenscroft, Fenwick), and a stage epithet that paints the act (the Lantern, of the Glass Hand, the Midnight). Mix and match and you get things like Thaddeus Blackthorne, Madame Seraphine Vaudoux, or Miss Evangeline Hawksmoor, the White Sparrow.

If you want something theatrical for posters or playbills, go short and striking: 'Professor Nocturne', 'Mr. Gilded Coin', 'The Clockwork Conjuror', or 'Madame Sable'. For a more aristocratic vibe, lean into old surnames and titles—'Countess Lucille Montrose' or 'Doctor Ambrose Kettering'—and for a seedier, back-alley character pick harder consonants and monosyllables: 'Silas Crowe', 'Gideon Grimsby'.

A tiny rule I use: if the act involves spiritualism, add softer vowels and French-sounding endings; if it’s mechanical trickery, favor guttural, Anglo names. Play with initials like R.M. Hawke or epithets like 'the Unseen' to give mystery. Try a few on paper and pretend you’re reading a Victorian poster aloud—some names will ring true and others will sound like costume jewelry.
