He hid you away in London, gave you the Thorne name, and hoped you would grow up to be a boring, ordinary man. But look at what you’ve become… your instincts, your intelligence, your ruthless efficiency in dismantling your enemies… all of it is the code I planted deep within you.” Liora took a long, steadying breath, trying to rein in her own emotions. She realised that confronting Victoria required not anger, but superior logic.

Victoria attacked Grant by moving quickly forward and slapping him hard across his face. He fell back into the stone table after the impact, which created a red mark that burned on his cheek. He bit his lip until it bled, refusing to let a single cry escape his throat. Victoria realized she had gone too far with her predatory instincts after she started to breathe in quick breaths. A dark plot took root in her mind. "You little scavenger!" she shrieked. "How dare you attempt to pilfer the Donovan ancestral relics!" Grant stared at her in shock. Elizabeth cooed as she batted her eyes. Victoria rolled her eyes. "I told you he is no prince charming of mine. He is handsome and all but we are just friends and we are going to be friends." She reminded Elizabeth whose facial expression showed she didn't believe any of the words Victor had just told her. "Just friends? Isn't that what they all say till the lips are touching each other and the tongue is involved?" Elizabeth mumbled. Victoria scoffed. "You just want a ship don't you? Well you won't be shipping me with anyone till I say it is safe to, are we understood?" Victoria said firmly.

Pulling down the front of his suit jacket with such a small but sharp motion, the material made a snapping sound. He offered the beautiful woman in front of him his hand. “Alexander Volkov.” he announced. Victoria shook her head as she reached for his outstretched fingers. Vic squeezed his hand and offered a bright smile just before Alexander grunted in discomfort and almost yanked his hand backwards. As Victoria opened her mouth to apologize for crushing his hand, two large silent intimidating freight trains for men came rushing her way. Notifications flooded my screen—tags, comments, and hateful articles. Did Victoria, the granddaughter of Mr. Charles Arlington, really kill Marianne? I scrolled down and saw another headline: Rumors claim Victoria married Marianne’s husband. When Marianne tried to claim what was hers, Victoria killed her!

Victoria’s hands shook slightly as she opened her locker. She hated Damien Voss. He was everything she despised arrogant, rule-breaking, untouchable because of his family’s donations.
