Voice Acting Practice Lines Novels & Stories

Mine. I changed into something comfortable and began practicing, using the small space as my stage, running the scenes over and over until they stopped feeling like lines and started feeling like truth. "Sorry… I didn't mean to…" I muttered under my breath, acting out spilling a drink, my hands trembling with the right kind of tension. Again. And again. Until it felt lived-in. Until I felt it in my chest. My phone rang. I paused and glanced at the screen. My sister's name. My smile faded. I considered letting it go but something made me answer anyway. "Hello…"

I pressed the call button and the line went through after a single ring. "Hello Alex," Cynthia's silky voice flowed from the device in my hand. "I was wondering when you were going to call....”

Here you go. Picking it up,I start. "Good morning. Lockwood industries here. How may I help you?" The line is silent on the other side and I narrow my eyes in irritation. Did I say something wrong? Why is the person not speaking anything. "Hello?" I hung up the phone irritated. I start to type again when the phone rings again. "Hello?" I say to again hear nothing. Is someone playing a prank on me? Slamming down the receiver,I was feeling really irritated.

She exclaimed, flinging her hands which in turn moved her fingers suddenly and she mistakenly dialed Simon's number without realizing it. She kept the phone down, placing it on her mirror stand and stood akimbo looking at the mirror. She thought of what to tell Simon if he picked up but nothing came to mind. Having ran out of options for her start up line, she felt downcast. Suddenly, an idea struck and she decided to rehearse the line before using it. Picking up her phone, she placed it close to her ear, but was shocked when she heard the voice from the other end of the phone.

I think of calling Violet; it would be more responsible than staring at unfamiliar numbers on the phone. My line must have notified my callers of its availability because a repeat unknown caller marked only by their number that fills my phone’s screen causes my heart to lurch to my throat. “Hello?” A deep sigh or gasp, I cannot tell, sounds before Marko’s voice trickles deliciously. “Where are you?” “The-” Crap…my voice’s shake is too evident; additionally, it sounds hideously pitched, but he might notice my cowardly state if I hesitate any longer.

the caller said. “Call him in,” the animated voice responded. “112, are you there?” The caller said. “Right here, Sir,” Blair responded from a short distance, thickening her voice a little. The dead men had a thin, feminine voice and Blair only needed a little adjusting to play the role. I was awed by what good voice actor she was, although I couldn't wrap my head around what trouble this could get us into, especially if she doesn't sell the role to the boss.

I begged, "I just want to hear his voice please." "There is nothing I can--" he was cut of and after a shuffling sound "Hello." I heard Kaden's amazing husky voice. I missed his voice so much and just hearing it stored up a few things in me, "Are the lines not going through I can give you another." He asked "No kaden I -- can we talk in person?" I asked "Sorry miss Smith but I am busy right now." He responded "Please it will only take a minute." I pleaded

she asks brightly, sounding exactly like one of those overenthusiastic moms sending their eight-year-olds onto a peewee football field for the first time. I straighten my blazer and nod once. “Ready.” “Remember,” my PA says, crouching in front of the phone like a drill instructor preparing a soldier for war, “confidence. No nervous facial ticks. Relax your muscles. And most importantly—” she points sharply at me, narrowing her eyes, “keep your voice steady. Okay?” I flash her the sweetest smile I can physically manufacture. “Okay.” “Good.” She turns toward the phone dramatically, finger hovering over the button. “Anddddd… action!”

His phone rang twice before he finally picked. “Hello”, Daniel said over the phone. “Hello Mr. Vuitton”, Kelly said, faking an accent. Daniel paused for a few minutes before replying back. “If it is not Kelly Parker trying to fake an accent”, Daniel replied back. “What!”, "How did you know that it was me?”, Kelly asked with surprise. “oh it’s easy. You called me with my company’s line which is tracked and monitored.”, Daniel replied “Monitored?”, Kelly asked with curiosity.

I can do my job sounding like me, or like a robot. I finish the dregs of my coffee and sit down. Tyesha uses an old rotary phone that she brought with her to dial a number. I hear the person click onto the line. “Sir? This is Tyesha Taylor, calling with your confirmed counseling appointment. All is set up here on our end.” I hear a long pause from the client, and then a mumbled reply.
