CHAPTER SEVEN Part of Aleta’s favorite red hoodie turned up in some bramble outside of the city. It was cut, shredded, and stained. Animals had been gnawing and tearing at it, pulling it apart thread by thread by thread with their canines and incisors and grinding molars. From what they recovered of Aleta’s body, she had also been gnawed and ripped, but the animals pulling her apart had been a different sort. Angry Marie made a decision, then, and the impact of that decision would way heavy in her soul for the rest of her life. But seeing as her soul was pretty much tattered beyond recognition anyway, it didn’t seem like that much of a leap.

His words caused thunder in broad daylight. …what? His friend also squatted down. He poked the red liquid on the ground and sniffed it. "Yes. It's animal blood. We're both hunters, so we're very familiar with this smell." He then glanced at Thea. "You didn't lie to us, did you?"

I called but was met with silence. I wrapped the towel tightly around my check and walked over to it. There was a card on top of the box and I sat on the bed and read. 'Red, Can't wait to see you in them. You always look stunning. Love, Jack' I took it out of the box and gasped at how beautiful and soft it was. "Oh my god," I chocked out and ran my hand through it. It was a beautiful red dress with a low v neck and a low back and a high slit. There was also a pair of black shoe with red crystals on it.

Plus, it was just a game, that didn't mean that they were following Daniel to the depths of hell! Daniel and John were still trying to figure out which part of the map could have the flags. The other two dumdums stood by probably planning on how to sabotage Daniel, and not far from where I was, I saw something. Something red, something like a flag perhaps jabbed on an old log. I walked further feeling the dry leaves crunch under my sneakers. It was indeed a flag! Our first flag jabbed in a mouldy- probably filled with bugs- log. Carefully, I lay my bag on the ground, determined to pull the flag.

In the center of the Boundary, standing alone against the swirling grey mist, was a single figure. He carried the White Bone flag—a jagged piece of bleached ribcage tied to a silver pole. Behind him sat three long, heavy wagons covered in black tarps. The wagons weren't pulled by horses; they were pulled by "Grave-Walkers"—hairless, six-legged beasts that looked like wolves stretched onto a spider's frame. "He’s been standing there for two hours," Kaelen reported, joining us at the edge of the rampart. Her silver eyes were narrowed, her hand resting on the hilt of her obsidian blade. "He hasn't moved. He hasn't shifted. He hasn't even breathed."

It was a light red streak that slowly became darker till it was almost crimson. It looked like blood and it was coming from south of the stream. I followed it carefully and hid behind a bush when I saw a guy washing his bloody foot in it. Like seriously? The guy stood up and walked away from the stream. He looked like a red team member. A while after he left, I stepped out from behind the bush. I walked closer to where the guy had previously stood. I got there only to see a red flag perched on a stone. It can't be this easy can it?

I nodded my head in agreeance prompting Iris to release his grip on my shoulders, but as I proceeded to head down the hallway, he stopped me one last time. "Red, go by yourself and scout ahead, I know you have experience tracking, and whoever is it, we need to sniff them out. I'll meet you there." "Yes Beta." .... As I left the Red Blood Territory a strange spontaneous feeling came over me. An unexplainable feeling the kept my pace moving at incredible speeds. My legs bolted through the dense forest, navigating in and out of the trees and bushes.

Chapter 40 Garfield West ~ Red got out of the car and in what I felt were tears, she walked away making a few short runs along the way using her witch cap to hide it from prying eyes. “What did you just do?” a voice said to me in my head. “That wasn’t meant to happen. Not at this point, at least. You have to go after her before she exposes herself!” the voice kept on speaking in my head and for a moment there, I began to think myself insane.

The pack grounds, once possibly vibrant with life, were now shrouded in an eerie silence, broken only by the occasional wandering pack member. Her unease deepened as she stepped further into the heart of the Redwood pack. The pack member appeared haggard, their faces etched with exhaustion and fear. They moved about like shadows, their eyes wide with an unspoken horror, their whispers carried on the wind speaking of tales untold. Marisol sensed their unease, their collective anguish, and it sent shivers down her spine.

I hear cocky voices behind me. I look behind to see three men walking fast towards me. I start walking faster. They also increase their pace and now my heart is thumping loudly against my chest, my legs weak as fuck. What If they rob me? Shit! What if they rape me? Worst case scenario, what If they kill me? "You don't have to run Little Red Ridinghood. I am not the bad bad wolf," one of them says with a chilly voice. They all burst into a laugh.
