Mortal

Mortal

Twenty minutes later, I’m done and turning my paper in to Professor Vassily’s desk. “Already?” He takes the paper from me. “Yeah. I love the book.” He chuckles. “You take after your father, I guess.” I stare at him. Professor Vassily rubs his temple. “I read your file. I saw that he was a professor. I’m sorry for your loss.” The suffocating feeling I’m always working so hard to keep at bay presses down on my chest. I’m right back there, standing in the living room with the phone pressed to my ear, hearing those awful words: “terrible accident”... “passed away”...

How is he connected to Mr. Walton in past?” Alex raised his eyebrows. The Wife He Burned, The Queen Who Return

A code. Helena frowned. “That’s odd.” “What?” “This clearance ID shouldn’t exist anymore.” She pulled up archived corporate authority registries, cross-referencing automatically. The system searched. Matched. Then displayed the result. Damian felt something cold move through his chest. The authorization belonged to: EXECUTIVE CLEARANCE — ALAN ROTHWELL Status: Inactive — Deceased (6 Years Prior) Silence filled the lab. Helena turned slowly toward him. “Your system shows this executive died before the fire.”

The Alpha's Mate (#1 The Southern Werewolves Pack Series)

Cohen should have known it if he wasn’t so busy chasing after rogues. Could it be Dalton’s brother Winston? He died five years ago when the Werewolf’s Council dismantled a brothel owned by a vampire. Cohen didn’t inspect the case before it turned into the classified case file. But how was Mira connected to the case? There was no mention of any evidence that connected her to the case. Mated to the Powerful Tribrid

Mated to the Powerful Tribrid

She walked with me looking all perplexed. "Dead wolves don't have a file, do they?" I asked her, it was just a hint but I knew she wouldn't get what I meant. "No, that's because that particular wolf's file is burned on the day he or she dies. As people think it's no more important to keep it but wait...how is it connected to your case? Why did you say that?" She looked at me with a raised brow. "When the time will come, I will make sure you know why I said this." I winked at her before walking near the kitchen where Eva was. The little one probably heard my voice and knew I was coming because she came running halfway to me.

The Billionaire's Obsession: Reborn For Revenge

The Billionaire's Obsession: Reborn For Revenge

I subconsciously straightened my back, my nerves began to get jumbled up. “He committed suicide. Jumped off a building and was quietly buried by his mentor, that's why the news of his death wasn't on the news.” I stared at him, my mind blank, “W… What? Aldren… Aldren wouldn't.” He took out a file that was on the table, I didn't notice that it was there previously and handed it over to me. I gulped and slowly opened it, my hands shaky. Inside the folder were a few documents, photocopied death certificates and the picture of his funeral. Mr Grant was there as well, his eyes red even in the photo.

MORTEM

MORTEM

. That is why I hurriedly went to my father’s room and checked for the possible box that I used to hide the black notebook. I rushed to the room while my mother and Nana Salve were wondering about me. When I reached inside the room, I locked the door just to find the box. Until I suddenly remembered about the Vault that my father has inside his cabinet. I opened the cabinet and I found the vault and I immediately opened it because I know how to unlock it and I was amazed when I saw the notebook there. My heart starts to beat fast again in excitement. I feel like I was finally myself when I saw the notebook. I saw the cutter too. I grabbed it with a notebook and stared at it. The bloodstain

’ I thought as I inputted the code. I stood, my face pale, all my blood dried in my veins as I watched the door make a clicking sound of unlocking. I let out a harsh breath, turning the lock and opening the door as I stepped inside. He actually used that date as his pass code. The same day Leah Harnes Blackwood died. That bastard used my death date as the passcode to his office. But why? Gulping, I moved towards the familiar cupboard in his office where I knew he kept all his important files.

The Pack's Secret Keeper

The Pack's Secret Keeper

She had, she thought, brutally been pushing aside her feelings about her father and his manner of death. Heath’s eyebrows raised. “Patrick Carter was killed in a tragic work accident.” “It wasn’t an accident,” Talen told him. “It was murder.” “Because of this?” Heath looked at the papers frowning. “I will ask August and Abigail to make sure that the pack wasn’t involved, but… I’m sure we would have heard. They would have warned the young werewolves to be more careful with their…” He trailed off, sliding a look at Aislen.

Roza
Like the book but always find it a pity that stories on these apps end with rape & abuse victims forgiving and forgetting (basically: with a simple sorry and a few tears) what abusers did to them. She has lifelong trauma and probably Stockholm Syndrome but no actual justice for this poor girl.

Ok so this book is… SO GOOD! The writing is on point with very little errors. The storyline keeps you glued to the pages. The past to present is different, sometimes I just want a few chapters where it’s not going back and forth. I love the characters growth of Aislen, and now the boys. Must read!
