That takes a lot of courage, especially for someone who grew up isolated and abused like you.” She says, then reaches out to twirl a strand of my hair around her finger. “I see why Kai is so enamoured with you; you’re beautiful, not to mention that your coat matches his.”

I stated. "You will help me? Can you even fight?" She scrunched her nose, eyeing me up and down. "Ouch" Jia whispered. She knows my mate is insulting me, but I can't do anything about it. What she thinks? Am I a small kid? I can't fight? She doesn't know who I am. "Don't worry my people will help you we have the huge number of strong Warriors capable of taking down a huge army." Alpha said proudly.

Kate's P.O.V. As I pressed my hand on that warrior’s skin, darkness swallowed me whole. The cold hospital room vanished, replaced by a battlefield drenched in blood. The injured warrior staggered across the ruined courtyard, every breath sounding like broken glass scraping his lungs. His wolf growled fiercely as three rogues surrounded him, attacking at once. Despite his injuries, the warrior refused to retreat. He fought like a man protecting something far more valuable than his own life. Claws collided, and growls shook the air as he managed to throw one rogue into a wall before another ripped across his shoulder.

Especially when you have a shifter running through your back yard who decides to change back into human form and check things out. But now everything was changing. The whole game plan. Because now he wanted the book and Jamie. He closed his eyes for a moment and he was back in that house naked and aroused. Jamie dozed in the chair, the book open on her lap, Mischief curled up on her lap. He'd waited to see if the cat would react, but black cats liked shifters and she was apparently no exception. He was torn between the rampant need for sex and the equally strong desire to get a look at that book.

We were at war. Just the thought of it was outrageous. While growing up in the Chicago area, I’d never even been in the vicinity of a gang rumble, let alone anything else. Now, after only a few months of leaving an area that ranked in the top twenty-five cities for crime in the USA and moving to what appeared to be a sleepy mountain hamlet wedged between small town USA and a city that was barely large enough to claim the title, not only was I at war, but I was at war with werewolves whose savageness was something the Chicago gangs couldn’t fathom. It was all too surreal.

"Oh really? This is just a taste of my madness. After I take his woman he would come to face me himself and I will be waiting," the werecat said with a grin. Sara was still standing behind the Alpha when all of a sudden, a cat hit her hard sending her few meters away from Calhoun. Seeing she was sitting in the midst of hungry and fierce werecats, Sara trembled in fear. She could clearly see the red and two colored eyes of the cats.

Lex's POV It was not lost upon me that I was being followed. I might have lost my wolf, but I was still a warrior in essence and being, and that too, an Alpha one. Sitting in the library with a mini bookshelf of my own on the table, I could tell that behind those thick load of books was a female dragon warrior and behind me were two wolves. In the racks across my table, flipping through random pages, were a few more. "Oh Joy ! How stupid do you think am I ?” I bitterly thought as I buried myself in medical journals. I was crazy scattered with books after all.
