Kairos came back over, and I raised my bottle. "To having the memory of an elephant," I said with a smile, clinking mine against his, but he paused. “Elephant?” I couldn’t help but laugh at his confusion. “It’s a land animal. Big ears, long trunk, incredible memory.” Kairos frowned. “I have no idea what that is.”
That surprised me. I mean, he knew so much. “You really don’t?”
He shook his head. “We don’t really study land animals. Not unless they pose a threat in the water. I know what a shark is. Not an… ‘el-phin’?”
