When Rivals Collide
He wilted instantly, hanging his head like an abandoned dog.
That day, the sun was beautiful. I was leaning on the balcony reading when, once again, he called out to me.
“What now?” I replied, annoyed.
“Can we go out for a bit?” he asked, already dressed, looking up at me with wide, hopeful eyes.
