Elara is lying on my side of the bed, her hands clutched tightly around a pillow pressed to her chest. Something sharp twists in my chest. I pull off my shirt and toss it aside before sliding under the covers. Gently, I ease the pillow from her grip and pull her against me, her body fitting into mine like it remembers how. The pillow is damp. My throat tightens as I look down at her face. In the low light, I can see faint streaks on her cheeks. Tears she didn’t let me see. “I’m sorry,” I whisper, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

And that’s when the tears come. I sob uncontrollably into my pillow, the pain spilling out of me in raw, broken cries. My chest hurts, physically aches, and I clutch it, trying to soothe the burn of heartbreak. My tears soak the sheets beneath me, but I don’t care. I cry harder, wishing I could just fall asleep and never wake up.

I buried my face in the pillow, trying to stifle the sob that threatened to escape. I didn’t want to cry, didn’t want to give in to the emotions that were clawing at me from the inside. But it was too late. A single tear slipped from the corner of my eye, soaking into the fabric beneath me. This wasn’t supposed to happen. None of this was supposed to happen.

Gilan’s POV I collapse onto my bed, my body sinking into the mattress as if the weight of my misery is dragging me down into the earth. My face buries into the cold silk pillow, but the moment my eyes close, the dam inside me breaks. Hot, uncontrollable tears stream down my cheeks, soaking the fabric. My chest heaves, each sob tearing out of me like it’s ripping skin from bone.

I chuckled a soft, empty chuckle. “Is it wrong to feel like every time I turn my back you’re gonna appear?” I croaked and tears swam in my vision. Shuffling down on the bed I laid my head on the pillow and brought the picture up to my chest, holding it as close to me as I could, before I let the tears free once more.

After spending the night sobbing the girls sitting with me in silent company I wake at ten my eyes feel puffy and red I don’t think I have a single tear left in my body after the amount of tears I shed last night. Todays my birthday the night of the ball and also the blood moon Delilah fell asleep with me in my room last night stroking my hair and face as I cried until I fell asleep with nothing else left to cry. she starts to stir when I sit up in bed she throws her arms around me there’s not pity in her eyes as I expected just a bestie waiting for her friend to pull herself back together.

I smelled the fragrance of his perfume that was left on the sheets. A sudden flood of tears fell as I thought about tomorrow. Will this happen again? Or osit a sign that Zeb will no longer be mine? My body shook with the force of my sobs, each breath trembling as I buried my face deep into the pillow, muffling the sound of my distress. The fabric clung to my face, but it only made everything worse. The tears soaked into the pillow beneath me, but I didn’t care. I just let them flow.

Through the rearview mirror, her figure grew smaller and smaller. At first, she hurried away in quick little steps. Then she broke into a run, her high heels striking the pavement faster and faster. Only then did my composure finally shatter. Covering my face, I let the tears spill through my fingers. The direction Delilah was running was the exact opposite of the road that led home. The path that was supposed to lead us to happiness had ultimately fallen apart because of betrayal.
