Wedding Vow Poetry Novels & Stories

Before going back home to get ready for dinner, Manu asked me to send my vows to her to type up for me and leave on the altar table. "Manu, I'm not going to do vows." I explained. "What do you mean? Nowadays every wedding has vows that the bride and groom write." Manu explained to me as if I wasn't informed. "That may be, Manu, but I want mine to be traditional. The old and perfect 'I promise to be faithful to you, in joy and in sadness, in health and in sickness, in wealth and in poverty, loving you and respecting you, all the days of our lives, until death do us part.' It's perfect! It can't be more perfect than promising love, fidelity, and respect in good times and in difficult times, fo

Instead of each of them writing and reciting their own vows, they wrote the same vows and recited them together. "Love is patient, Love is kind, Our souls for eternity to bind. Love is humble, Love is pure, Our hearts to forever endure. Love is generous, Love is innocent, Our love is infinite. I give myself to you in love, to honor and respect, to support and strengthen, In all, for all. Everything that I have, everything that I am, I share with you. In sickness, and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse, I love you, I wed you, I accept you."

Chandni was crying throughout the wedding process, and Ansh was uncomfortable with her tears. They stood up for the seven rounds and seven vows around a sacred fire, which was lit for the purpose amidst the Vedic mantras. Ansh took her hands in his and squeezed them in a comforting manner. Both Ansh and Chandni circumambulated a consecrated fire seven times, reciting specific vows with each circle. ~ The first vow was a prayer to the Lord for provision and nourishment. ~The second vow was for strength in sickness, health, good times, or bad.

~Laurel~ "Kurt Kenton, I vow to love you, respect you and take you as my husband, friend, partner, lover, and pledge a vow of honesty and fidelity. It is one I give willingly, easily, gracefully, at this moment and for our whole lives. As we join our lives together, let us vow to live in truth, to always communicate fully, to hold each other against the wind, to feel our hearts joined as one. To you I give myself and everything I will ever be. Wherever our journey leads us, I promise to walk with you arm in arm, hand in hand, to hold you as your wife and to learn from you, love you, and surprise you, as long as we both shall live."

he whispers. “You clean up well.” A faint ripple of laughter travels through the first rows. The officiant begins, voice steady. “We gather to witness the union of two who face trial and emerge united.” Vows are exchanged without theatrics. Rylan speaks first. “You stand beside me when I doubt my worth. You remind me who I am. I promise to stand beside you with equal strength.” Lira meets his gaze. “You fight for truth even when it costs you everything. I promise to guard that truth with you, and to remind you to rest when you forget.”

I whisper back, making him chuckle out loud. "The groom has written his own vow," the officiate says and I look at Jonathan with surprise. Oh my god, I didn't prepare a vow! Jonathan smiles at me reassuringly as he begins to speak his vow. "Emma, I knew from the moment I met you that you were the one for me. I promise to cherish you, to support you, and to love you with all of my heart. I vow to be your partner in every aspect of our lives, to grow with you, to learn from you, and to be there for you no matter what life may bring. I love you more than words can express, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

“You’re not just the woman I married out of convenience, Ashlyn. You’re the woman I’d marry a hundred times over, in every lifetime.” She blinked, surprised by the strength of his voice. "That’s quite a statement, Mr. Knight." He inclined closer, his voice becoming a whisper. "It is not a statement." “It’s a commitment.” Before she had a chance to reply, the noise of a spoon striking a glass resonated throughout the room. Everyone's attention was focused on Ashlyn while Steven White was at the podium.

The woman I had loved for so many years had deceived me and given birth to another man's child, yet she kept demanding me not to overreact. "We're done. The wedding is off," I stated icily. With a loud crash, Rhiannon smashed the teacup in front of her. The shards flew up and cut my forehead. She screamed, "Why can't you try to understand me? I don't want to owe Lionel anything. He saved my life. I have to repay him somehow!" Blood trickled down my forehead. However, I didn't feel any pain from it. The unbearable ache in my heart was way more pronounced compared to my physical pain.

It's like a poem that you didn't write. I gripped the mic that Father handed me and put it in my mouth. I turned to Auden and looked up at him. "I, Cami Balmaceda, take you, Auden Silverio, to be my lawfully wedded husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live." My voice cracked after saying th

I could tell by the look on Dylan’s face that he was growing more and more annoyed by the minute. I lost track of time after that. Before I knew it, we were reciting our wedding vows, and I have no idea how I managed to speak the words out loud. "I, Dylan Anderson / Freya Miller, take you, Freya Miller / Dylan Anderson, to be my wedded wife / husband; to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, until death do us part. This is my solemn vow to you, according to God’s holy will."
