The Ouroboros used their shields made of dragon bone to block the arrows; the curve of the shields made it hard for any to flick through. The way the werewolves were ragingly approaching made some of the Ouroboros shift with a hint of fear, but they had sworn to protect this realm. It was their chance. The werewolves burst in, claws and blades flashing in the air. There were hidden lit torches serving as the source of fire control. One of the wolves pounced onto an Ouroboros, tearing his head off, while at the same time, an Ouroboros slashed another's throat with his blade, then burst fire onto yet another.

Alive. I took a shaky step forward, overwhelmed by the rush of their emotions blending with mine. But the relic wasn’t ready to surrender. A low, ominous rumble echoed from the warehouse complex. It was easily the size of a small vehicle, its shoulders thick with muscle, its coat soaked in the blood of the Blackwood vanguard it had just slaughtered. Julian’s inner wolf had completely taken over, his human consciousness buried beneath a desperate, lethal instinct to protect his mate. The wolf didn't even slow down for the steep drop. It leaped from the crest of the hill, vaulting over Evelyn’s head and landing with a bone-crushing impact directly between her and her pursuers.

Jaime grunted. Elder Obada turned around to see that he was surrounded by menacing looking werewolves with red glints in their eyes. Each of them looked like they had not been fed in days. “Where’d they come from?” Elder Obada stared at Xavier. “I thought they said the wolves of the North are all dead.” “Well who gave you that information?” Jaime laughed. “Apparently your informer was lying to you.” Elder Obada turned around. The Forgotten's mental manipulation shattered completely when reality itself convulsed with invasion.
