She didn't know until he whispered in her ear. "Clean this up," Rick said, pulling out of her and zipping up his pants. "Make sure there's no trace we were ever in here." Then he left. The silence was overwhelming for Xenia. She had to cover her ears when she realized what was happening. She wanted to leave and use one of the bombs on him, but something made her stay. Jane. She would only hurt Jane in the process. Xenia stayed put until she heard the door creaking open. She turned to see Jane leaning against the door.

Rick worked as a doctor in the town’s hospital. I smiled immediately. “Rick, I thought you were working!” I exclaimed but he just smiled as he pulled me close to me and kissed my forehead. He ruffled the twins head. He nodded a Hello to Sadie, who waved back with a smile. “I wanted to take a walk and grab a coffee. I was going to stop by home too.” He said. I smiled at him. He was always so sweet. “I take it the new doctor must be good enough to leave.”

I could feel her eyes on me, probably wondering why I bothered. Truth was, I wasn’t sure either. Rick eventually slumped back in the chair, mumbling to himself as his eyelids drooped. A few minutes later, the bottle slid from his hand and rolled under the railing, clinking against the gravel below. “Guess that’s my cue,” I muttered, nudging his shoulder to make sure he wasn’t about to choke on his own tongue. He just groaned and turned his head away. Out cold. The deck was quieter without his voice filling it. Just the crickets, the wind, and the faint hum of the city far below.

Within seconds, the worst of the damage had closed. I pulled my hands back, shocked. The glow faded. Carter's breathing stabilized. His color improved. "What just happened?" the nurse asked, her voice shaking. "I don't know." That was a lie. I knew exactly what happened. My wolf's healing ability had manifested fully for the first time. And everyone in this room had witnessed it. "Everyone in this room signs a non-disclosure agreement," Dr. Stevens said firmly, appearing from nowhere. He must have been observing. "What we just saw is classified medical information about Miss Hart's condition. Anyone who speaks about this outside this room will be terminated immediately. Are we clear?"

He wasn’t going anywhere. As the doctor led him down the hallway to Samira’s room, Ray felt like he was walking in a dream. The sterile smell of antiseptic burned his nose, the sound of his footsteps echoing in the hollow silence. When they reached her room, the doctor pushed the door open quietly and left Ray alone to face what awaited him.

Then the nurse next to me whispers in my ear: “Wipe the doctor's forehead.” I didn't want to do it, but I had to do it, so I took a small cloth and slowly wiped the sweat off of Doctor Mark. His strong gaze focused on me, I immediately felt an electricity pass through my body and I removed my hand. He just scoffed, since even though he had a mask he didn't hide it. After removing the bullet, everything started to get worse, the nurses started leaving the operating room when everything was over, leaving me alone with Dr. Mark.

She informed them slightly and the family vampire doctor, Ross could tell that she was hiding something about it. “In time, you’ll be able to shift soon.” Doctor Ross smiled genuinely at her as if he knew something that would make her shift again. “I hope you and Master will get along since we’ve never seen him being too close to anyone he just met.” Rizal sounded hopeful for a better change around their master. “But be warned that whenever he loses his cool and anger takes over, you better hide because he’ll do his tantrum and kill anyone beside him.” Doctor Ross chuckled as he warned her.

“ Meara!” The whispers started again, soft but notable. I tensed, my eyes snapping open. I scanned the field, but there was no one in sight. The sound seemed to come from the tree itself, from the rustling of its leaves. I pressed my palms against the rough bark and closed my eyes, focusing on the whispers. " Come... find... me..." The words were faint but distinct. My heart raced. Was I losing my mind, or was there something more to these whispers? I stood up, brushing the dirt off my jeans, and took a few steps back. The whispers grew louder, more insistent.

Rick waited until everybody was inside the aircraft, both wounded and not, then he spoke to them. "Now listen up everyone", Rick got the attention of all the people around. It was time to make them forget that Clair was shot and that she died. He didn't want people raising brows when they see a girl that is supposed to be dead, walking around alive and healthy. It would draw attention to him that he didn't need at all. He was about to perform a similar magic to the one he did with Stanley. Though he hated the dark energy swirling within him, it was the only way. Performing on this amount of people could drain him but he had no other choice. When he looked at me, the feigned kindness in his eyes was gone, replaced by a raw, sickening hunger. "Thea, you didn't tell anyone about what happened that night, did you?" he whispered. There was a threat in his tone. "I'm sure you wouldn't want Hank finding out either, do you?" He cornered me against the wall until my back was pressed against the cold bricks. Fear wrapped around my heart like a tightening vine. I bit my lip and frantically shook my head, tears finally spilling out of my eyes. "That's more like it." He smiled with satisfaction and even reached out to wipe my tears.
