LIAM After my picnic with Laura, she goes to take a nap. And I go into my office to do some work. Sitting in my chair, I smile at the thought of Laura helping my mom, with the plans for the upcoming event. From what I got to hear she had thought about a lot of ideas. Usually, at this time of the year, we celebrate the end of summer and that winter is coming, only the year we have the Eclipse so we also celebrate that. I hear the bell going but I know my mom is here, so I let her open today.

After a quiet moment, she said, "I understand what you're saying, Gale. You want someone by my side who understands me, cares for me, and becomes my support. Joe fits all those criteria. You're happy now, and you want me to settle down soon." "Yes." Summer bit her lip, "But I'm afraid that after investing in a relationship and giving too much, I won't be able to extricate myself in the end. I'm more afraid that after getting used to a life with someone, I'll revert back to being alone." One had to start somewhere. Summer agreed because she could not remain single forever. Trixie’s POV This last week of summer has flown by while I spent a bunch of time getting new clothes for my senior year and school supplies for my classes I knew I would graduate early in December and would miss it. I also spent time with my parents who have showered me in support of not pressuring me into making a decision on what I want to do with the rest of my life and letting me figure it out. My friends and I had been doing all the shopping together and had another sleepover this week. This would be the summer I missed most before adulthood kick my hind end.

Fenella’s POV The end of the school year had arrived. Starting this Sunday, we will all return to our respective homes for the summer vacation. Of course, all the kids were excited about it, especially with the end-of-year dance party before we left. Everyone was enthusiastic, except for me.

"O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"

“Right Summer…,” “Yes, daddy...” Summer chimed, hugging my legs tightly as we continued our leisurely walk to the ice cream shop. The grass was cool beneath us, damp with dew, and the crickets were finally beginning to quiet down now that dawn was on its way. We had sobered up by now, and should have been in bed. But sleep seemed too far away for any of us; just one last night like this, one last summer as college students before we started our senior year.
