AFTER NIGHT FALLS
Unsure of how long he had been asleep, he gazed at the moon shining outside his window, realizing it was already noon.
He glanced at the damp spot on the bed where he lay. His sweat had soaked the sheets. “Come in,” he uttered in a low voice, and the door creaked open.
Layla entered the room, her eyes briefly catching the dragon tattoo on his back before she glanced at the wet bedspread.
“Are you having another episode?” she asked, but he remained silent. “Perhaps I should ask her to prepare your medicine,” she suggested, but he shook his head.
