His eyes hooded and he leaned into the touch, but he’d obviously gathered that I wanted a moment, because he didn’t speak, and he didn’t move to touch me back. He was right… I could feel him. Not just under my palm, not just under my fingertips as I played them along his jaw to his mouth and traced his full lips with my thumb. Not just where my belly brushed against him when I leaned up so I could comb my fingers through his hair. Every time I touched him, everywhere… it tingled under my fingers, as if some kind of electricity existed between us, a power that grew when we touched.

A sudden rush of heat coursed through me at his touch, igniting an unexpected spark of passion within me. His touch, however clinical in intent, set off a flutter of desire in my core. The week had been a whirlwind of work, leaving us with little time for private, intimate moments. His smirk is gone and now he stares at me but just for a second only and then down at my extended hand before he took his hand in mine for a shake. When his hand touched mine, I felt a tingling sensation all over my body. What is this feeling? Why am I getting this feeling all over my body, it’s just a handshake, right. "Pleasure to meet you as well, uh Miss Evan" he replied and then redrew this hand from mine, I kind of felt disappointed when his hand left mine.

I said again and offered him my arm. The moment his fingers wrapped around my arm, a strange sensation shot through my body. It was not the electric jolt of the mate bond with Andre, or the consuming fire of Drake’s touch. This was different…a cold, sharp feeling, like touching metal covered with ice. I suppressed a shiver, blaming it on my shattered nerves.

I nod as I tell him, “I feel warm. Could you lead me outside or maybe to get something to drink?” He takes my arm as he leads me out. My body feels hotter with each second, but when he touched my arm, I immediately feel cool where our skin was touching. Along with the coolness I felt, I couldn’t help but notice the tingles I experience from his touch. Why does he have this effect on me? I thought Apollo would be the only one capable of that. The heat becomes unbearable, and I can’t help the heavy pants as I try to take in some deep breaths. Anything to calm my racing heart and maybe somehow cool me down.

"I didn't mean to scare or upset you." I reach out to touch her arm, my fingertips brushing against her skin with a feather-light touch. And then, I FEEL IT again—the same sensation that had coursed through me earlier when I’d touched her hand. My breath hitches. It has been so long since I’ve experienced anything like it, so long since I’ve allowed myself to feel anything at all. "If you don't mind," I whisper, "There's something I want to confirm."

He wasn't hurting me. There was nothing forceful about his touch. Yet somehow, that simple contact sent warmth rushing through my body. My heart began pounding. And then the most embarrassing thought crossed my mind. Fuck. Did I just get turned on by his touch alone? I swallowed. That shouldn't be happening. Not now. Not with him.
