When Your Mother Doesn't Novels & Stories

My mother choked on the water she was drinking, Donna came running to help her and it all ended in a terrible mess. “Son? Your son?” Her reaction was no different from mine, but I know how to hide reactions, whereas my mother is too spontaneous. “Since when do you go around making children and leaving them behind? And you? - Donna found herself without a reaction and froze when my mother took her hand. - How are you coping? And... how did you get here?” “Nobody knew, Mom. We just... you know. It was at the celebration Matthew had when he passed his medical course, and since then, I haven't known anything either.”

I nodded and leaned against her. And slowly, I faded away. ... Mom, if there is another life… Can I come back to you as a healthy child? You don't answer. I’ll take that as a yes.

Aisyah stammered a bit. Aunt Sarah's already pale face paled even more. "What's wrong with her? Tell me!" exclaimed Aunt Sarah, Aisyah's mother. Aisyah looked at her mother with a look of sadness, "It's nothing Mum! It's just...it looks like she's gone!" Aunt Sarah seemed to start breathing hard again, Aisyah began to panic.

I ask defiantly, and by my uncle's expression, I know he's dying to give me a good smack for being so stubborn. "At this very moment, you move your butt and go apologize to your mother. I'm about to tell him that this woman is not my mother when he raises his hand, making a gesture for me to be quiet. "Of course, she is your mother. Even though she didn't give you life, she is your mother. Tell me, who has been taking care of you every time you get sick? Who attends all your school events? Who stands up for you when you make a mistake? Who has given you all her love without making any difference between you and your sisters?"

Elaine's POV I've been in my room for Goddess knows how long. Jean's health was declining. My ego, pride, and revenge were on the line. Which one weighed more? My son's life or my ego? What kind of a mother was I? Having that question pop into my mind was foolish in itself. "I'm such a loser..." I said to myself. A loser mother who can't even decide what to do. Just then, I got a call from Dr. Rayleigh.

"Your mommy doesn't want you anymore. Once she found out you weren't hers, she left you!" Luther's piercing eyes were trained on Ivana. He stared daggers at her and gripped her throat once more. "What do you mean? What nonsense are you spouting now?"

During that first week, my three sons kept coming over to look for me. Ryan showed up at the gate, shouting, "Mom, I was wrong! I'm on the verge of bankruptcy! Lend me some money to get through this. Otherwise, my whole family will starve!" I watched him shake the gate from the window, the metal clanging loudly, and felt nothing. A few days later, Victor came with Molly. Molly wore a dress and sang the nursery rhymes I had taught her, breaking into tears after a few lines and crying out, "Grandma!"

"Mom!" I exclaimed excitedly. However, Mom walked right through my body and went past me. So, as it turned out, I couldn't touch Mom anymore. I followed her and carefully made my request in a very small voice, but Mom couldn't hear me at all. Also, she hadn't come back for me. She'd just forgotten to bring her car keys with her. When Mom's eyes paused at my bedroom door, I hurriedly explained myself as if I'd just been caught red-handed.

"But you're not my mother." ***

I cooed while trying to play dumb to whatever she was getting at, Though Mom might had sneaked up on Me like that but the images were beginning to Crawl up in my head, Two days had passed Already and tonight was the Night of the Sacred Party but here I was, all sited and doing nothing. "Oh Son, You Don't try to play dumb on your Mother Alright?, I saw the look in your eyes, the way you stared through your Window All day Long, the way you looked Shackled. Am far older than you Son and I know when a boy is missing someone, so what's holding you Back!" Mom tiny voice came again while I watched as she emerged from the darkness and sat beside Me "I don't know what you are talking about Mom!" I re
