“But I think we’re about to find out.”
As the vine coiled upward, it grew faster than anything in nature should have, unfurling like the tendrils of some ancient plant. The eye at its center blinked slowly, as if it were watching them — studying them.
And then, the whispers began.
It wasn’t a voice, but an almost physical presence in their minds. A hum, deep and constant, carrying with it the faintest echo of a voice.
“You awakened me,” it whispered, though the words seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once. “You freed what was bound. And now, I see.”
