Chapter 10 Bonnie “Bonnie!” A familiar voice came from the entrance of the clubhouse. “Carbon!” I cried, excitedly. He headed over to me and dropped his bag on the floor, he bent down and wrapped me up in a massive bear-hug. I’d known Carbon for years, his older brother was Blade, the VP of the Toronto Renegades. Carbon was the same age as me, Blade, was a lot older. When I first arrived at the club with my mom, Blade brought Carbon, or Nolan, as I knew him, so I had someone to hang out with. He had been my best friend for the last 5 years.

I pulled Winnie behind a tree as the bullet scratched the tree surface. “We're here,” I muttered, retaliating with my own shots. Winnie and I barely made plans when it came to working together. It was either we thrived or died. With lightning speed, she dashed through the trees, ducking when necessary. An old well, long ago dried up and since that time used mostly to collect trash, not to mention a hiding place that gave their mother fits before she died, was all that stood between the boys and these strange riders. “Where is your daddy?” a third man asked. But I convinced myself to at least try for my mom. The shooting range is tucked deep within the estate’s massive grounds. I follow the gravel path until the trees thin and the air fills with sharp gunfire. I spot them immediately. The four brothers, guns in hand, lined up like they’re preparing for war. Beside them are Wyatt, Rye, Ian, and Wilson—friends of the Aldair brothers and fellow members of the Crystal Ridge pack. They were my schoolmates too, back in high school. Not as cruel as the quadruplets, but far from saints. And by the looks of them now, they’ve grown into men who train like killers.

I was never late for formation again. While in basic, I met some cool guys, two of which were twins from New York, Noah, and Oliver Geno. I also met Nathan Butler from Tennessee and Brad Jones from Ohio. They each had families back home, but I was the only one who didn't have siblings. Nathan had two older brothers and a younger brother, and Brad only had a younger brother. I always found it strange that Noah and Oliver would clam up when we asked about their family. It was like they never wanted to talk about it. But nonetheless, the five of us became like brothers with different mothers. It was crazy how well we all got along.

I roared. Sunday stopped the other boys and paid attention to me where I was on the ground, bleeding, and still holding my hurting stomach. "Who the fuck be your brother and why should I care?" He asked in his thick voice and the other boys giggled. I stood up from the ground, and with suddenly found confidence, I said: "My brother is Kazeem the butcher, he runs with the warlords and, I guess knows what happens when I tell him what you did to me. He's going to kill all of you and your fucking families, you dumb cunts!"

“Who the fuck are the Corvyn brothers?” Chrissy rolled her eyes, and snorted. “Bird brained assholes. Two are in my grade, and two are in Mina and Mal’s grade.” I looked around at the four younger girls. “Do I need to kick some asses before we leave tomorrow?” Mal shook her head. “We’ve known them since kindergarten. he noted. “Tell me about it,” I chuckled. My hand went to rub my nose again, making sure that bleeding had totally stopped. “Does Blondie have anymore brothers I should know about? "Stop overreacting, sis. I've always protected you in high school. Want me to start telling you all the stories?" Sure, he protected her from bullies, but he also kept her from living a normal life. Vincent was one of the most popular, handsome guys in school-a great dancer, and every girl would swoon just to watch him. Meanwhile, she was the nerdy sister, always in glasses, oversized sweatshirts, and a pale face. People approached her not for who she was but because of her brother. She remembered her first relationship in high school. Her boyfriend dumped her after just three days.
