Yours just bleed louder.” I moved faster than thought, gripping his throat before he could blink. “If you ever go near her again, I’ll tear you apart.” His smirk returned, even as his pulse thudded under my hand. “You mean our little Maya?” My grip tightened. “Don’t say her name.” He chuckled, his voice hoarse. “You’re losing control. Just like your father.” That name froze me. My hand trembled slightly before I pushed him back. Zane wiped his throat, still smiling. “You can’t keep pretending you’re the hero here. The prophecy doesn’t favor saviors—it destroys them. And she’s the beginning of your end.”
