Episode 44 They finally arrived at Ivory Academy, Joey was waiting for Hannah at the parking lot where he stands with other students. Immediately he saw them, he run to Mr Clark and jumped on him. "How is my champion doing?" Mr Clark asked and carried him up. "I'm fine Mr Clark, thank you for coming to pick me up." Joey answered. "Joey, am I a ghost?" Hannah asked folding her hands. "Oh Momma, I'm sorry I was too excited to see Mr Clark..."

"Lumigen Pharmaceuticals is already working with the Jovy family. Going to them now is probably pointless. But if you want to try, go ahead. I'll head back first." Jojo hung up, leaving Marilyn puzzled. Based solely on the conversation, Jojo seemed fine. However, Marilyn had the impression that something was wrong. They had gone to Haron City to negotiate with the Williams family, and since they had been annihilated, Jojo had not mentioned it. Furthermore, how did Jojo intend to leave for Bloomington with Haron City under lockdown? Marilyn suspected that someone had taken over or revived Jojo's body, unaware that she had fused her soul with Third Granny.

He already knew that Jojo would not understand what he meant. “Dreamworld? What is it? Is it a new vacation spot? Like some kind of Singapore Island, or like Astro World in America?” Jonathan asked more enthusiastically. He had never heard of a tourist spot called Dreamworld. What Kevin meant was a dream world, which meant he wanted to take Jojo to sleep.

“Ohh.” I shook my head at her, confused. “What are you talking about?” I asked her. “No one survives at the heart of the woods, that was Venom’s territory. He lets my grandma stay because we made a deal.” I nodded. “But I survived, Luca came to save me–” “Luca sure did. That was why he was trying to kill Venom earlier,” Jojo said. My lips twisted upward in a soft smile. “I had to help Venom out, so he won’t tell Luca my true identity– that my grandma lives in the woods alone.”

Then she hop-skipped over to Vivian and grabbed her hands. “Isn’t this, like, totally awesome?” Her eyes were big and filled with awe. Vivian narrowed her own in response. “Who turned you?” she demanded. Jojo shrugged. “Just some bum. He got, like, everyone. It was totally terrifying at first, but then I woke up with these kick-ass moves. Want to see?” Vivian shook her head. Jojo continued. “We’re, like, totally going to be his army or something. It’s going to be awesome.”

I mumbled to myself, making Jojo chuckle. “Don’t say it out loud. You don’t want to get into trouble!” she murmured. “Honey bunny! I am trouble in person, and lately, what I want is not to be out of trouble!” I chuckled back, and Jojo ended up snorting her coffee because of so much laughter.

Mel's eyes brightened as Jojo spoke. It was never her wish that her friend returned to the restaurant where she earned less than she would have earned in Rush Empire, but at least, Jojo was happy. Now, she would not bother keeping her job a secret from Valerie anymore. She would be proud of her hustle and she would hold her head high up, no matter what. That was what she wished for Jojo, and it delighted her that her friend was paving that way for herself.

The speakers were already loud so it cut him off. I knew that pissed him off but I wasn't going to argue with him. Knowing Jabu, he'll stop the car right here and tell me to get off. The car sped through the highway, taking off ramps till I found us at the heart of Jozi. Jozi, the city of gold.
