“Maybe because they got emotional when they saw their friends,” Isabela answered, her voice soft yet reflective, the weight of the situation sinking in.
“Yes, that could be the only reason,” Alice added, her expression distant as her thoughts drifted to the memories of those left behind.
Pedro, walking beside them, clenched his fists. “My poor brother,” he muttered, sadness clinging to his every word. His shoulders slumped with defeat, his eyes hollow as he trudged along the path back to Isabela’s house.
