Even the wind seemed to dance with relief, carrying the scent of fresh earth, melting snow, and distant wildflowers.
From the forested hills and rolling plains, faint stirrings began. Birds lifted into the sky in irregular flocks, their calls sharp and jubilant, a chorus of natural applause. Wolves lifted their heads, ears twitching, noses sniffing the shifting air. Somewhere, a fox dashed through underbrush, pausing mid-leap to sniff the breeze that carried hints of freedom. It was subtle at first, almost imperceptible, but gradually, the world began to awaken.
