Chaos erupted. Amidst the somber atmosphere of the funeral, a sudden shriek shattered the silence as William's lifeless body collapsed onto the ground. His blood stained the grass, mingling with the soil near Dora's freshly filled grave. "Oh, my God!" The cry echoed through the cemetery. "She shot her own father!" Accusations flew as mourners scattered like leaves in a gale.

He could only grit his teeth and leave in pain. The Black Serpents' men hurried over to ask if I was okay. I knew Nathaniel was busy and did not want to distract him, so I shook my head and said, "It's nothing, just a cat." However, as I watched the waves churning on the sea, I had a feeling something major was about to happen. ... William stumbled back home. He had been reduced to hiding in the basement. The mansion was filled with the corpses of his brutally murdered men. With his unshaven face looking haggard and weathered, he lit a cigarette and smoked with empty eyes.

"The autopsy is in. Time of death confirmed at seven to nine days ago. As for the footage, we will pull it and verify." He turned to Wendy. There was something complicated in his eyes now. "Ma'am. You say the deceased attacked you three days ago. The deceased has been dead for seven. Are you sure you didn't get the date wrong." Wendy's lips were trembling. Nothing came out. The chat scrolled past her like a flood. [What the hell is happening?!] [May died seven days ago? How could she stab anyone three days ago?] [So the surveillance is fake! Wendy is lying!]

The money dropped from the man's hand, he placed one hand on his neck and slowly turned to Ashton, his eyes wide with fear and shock, blood oozed from his mouth and neck, he tried to speak but couldn't, soon he collapsed to the ground, dead. Ashton picked up the money and looked at the man, he was so calm and unbothered about what he's just done. "Sorry man, I take no chances." He thought about what to do with the body, first he thought of taking the body and disposing it, but then he decides against it and instead hid the body somewhere in the parking lot, this might also add more to Adams charges. Done with that, he made sure there was no blood stains on him before leaving.

Theo hesitated, then pointed toward the front porch. “You should see it yourself.” William didn’t wait. He strode across the pack house floor, throwing open the main doors. A rush of cold morning air swept in, carrying pine and damp soil. I followed at his side, pulse hammering in my ears. And then— I froze. So did William. Because there, lying on the wooden planks of the porch, was a body. Not a dead one—at least, not yet. A man. A wolf shifter. Young. Maybe only a few years older than me.
