Wind Chill Novels & Stories

Derofort⁶ A chilling wind touched the brunette’s skin as her eyes opened. Everything was still blurry until she blinked a couple of times and her hazel eyes widened in shock upon seeing where she was. There she laid on the Carter lake house’s front porch. Her night just became weirder.

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅• Katherine stepped out into the cold, windy morning, a cup of steaming coffee warming her hands as she checked her phone. She shivered slightly, pulling her cozy sweater tighter around her. The semi-busy streets of Willow Haven bustled with early risers, commuters, and shop owners opening their stores. The chill in the air was a reminder of the heavy rain last night.

The snowfall was faster than any effort to dig it out. He immediately typed a reply. Cyrus: [It's freezing out there. Go out for just a few minutes and you'll be an icicle. If we're going to shovel, it should wait until the snow actually stops.] Others quickly chimed in to agree. [Exactly! It's -70 out there. We'd be frostbitten in no time.] [This isn't the north, we don't have proper cold-weather gear. How are we supposed to go outside?]

It was late in the afternoon when Adhara decided to walk to the garden castle. The snowstorms had barely stopped, and the clouds were moving to open the sky. She could still feel the chilling winter wind. The snow was slowly melting in the atmosphere, threatening to fall to the ground. She embraced herself to lessen the cold and inhaled the winter air, finding relief from her tired thoughts. She had come to realize that the winter breeze sometimes offered relaxation to someone like her, weary of everything.

It was a little after three when Jim arrived. I hadn't been outside all day, so I was oblivious to how the temperature had dropped. Jim came running in, saying, "Jeez...It's fucking cold outside. With the wind chill, it feels like it's twenty degrees outside." He stopped to stare at me as I got off the couch to help him with the bags. "Wow, Maggie. How are you not freezing? Trust me, I'm not complaining. You look fantastic. When did you become so hot?"

A sudden cold wind blew through the area, making me shiver deeply. The air became very icy right away, and with that change— dread. It was more than just getting cooler; it was a quick, strong pull of all heat, like falling into a dark cave during a cold season. The switch happened so fast it seemed less like normal weather and more like something pushing in—a thick cover of freezing fear. My breathing stopped short, turning into a seen mist before it faded into the strong chill. My skin felt rough, the small hairs rising up, not only from the low temperature but from a basic, deep scare that went into my body. Every feeling told me to escape, to find cover, but my feet stayed stuck, trapped

She wrapped her arms around herself, trying to preserve any warmth she had left in her body, but it was no use. The icy breeze cut through her like a sharp knife, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. Her breaths came out in foggy puffs, a visible testament to the frigid temperature. Every step felt like she was trudging through a sea of icy water, and her feet felt numb and heavy. Her whole body trembled as she moved forward,

In this tense and unsettling atmosphere, the muffled voices only intensified her mounting distress and fear. The icy breeze blowing against her unprotected skin made her shiver uncontrollably. Her breath began to quicken as the ice-cold wind continued to blast against her, and her lips turned blue from the bitter cold. The cold feeling quickly spread throughout her body, making it feel like her entire body was immersed in an ocean of freezing water. The thought of getting wet with such frigid water was enough to send shivers down her body, yet there was little she could do to protect herself.

*** Hyacinth *** The snow was falling steadily, each flake drifting through the air with a quiet grace before settling on the ground. The cold wrapped itself around me, sharper than I’d ever felt before, biting at my skin, seeping into my bones. Every breath felt like ice in my lungs, the chill so deep it seemed to crawl beneath my clothes, making my muscles stiff and unresponsive. This wasn’t just cold; it was a sharp, unforgiving kind of cold that seemed to gnaw at everything it touched.

Tyler growled in his wolf form, getting up again and trying to wipe the snow from his eyes. The ice was at such a low temperature that it burned. When I left home, it was –4 degrees, and I had to wear wool coats and sheepskin to keep warm. I knew it was dangerous to go out in the frost while pregnant, but I was reckless. Tyler leaped at the Beta, sinking his enormous claws into the wolf's shoulder, causing him to agonize in pain. The Beta took the opportunity to bite Tyler's left shoulder violently, leaving the mark of his teeth in an exposed wound that burned upon contact with the icy snow.
