Her chest rose fast, lips parting on a sound that wasn’t quite a protest.
The heat between us snapped.
I didn’t wait. My hand caught her waist, pulling her flush against me. Fire flared up my arm, not from the sigils but from her, sparks licking across my burned skin. Her gasp turned into a groan as I slanted my mouth over hers, reckless, hungry. She tasted like smoke and storm, like something dangerous I’d never get enough of.
