Winter Flower Novels & Stories

That flower's core was yellow, as if it had a small, lonely sun in so much darkness. "Helleborus." Tinea said as she picked up one of the cakes with the flower on top. "One of the winter-resistant flowers, it is said that it was created because Mother Moon refused to see the precious flowers die after autumn. The Shooting Stars say that winter was born because of this mourning of the Goddess." With a fork the woman cut the cake in half, a filling so black as the flower dripped down the plate. "Many call it the 'flower that refuses to die,' but as much as its legend is beautiful, this flower is related to moments of inevitable sadness and loss, a painful memory that hurts the soul."

Chase stared at the pure flower in front of him, and a look of delight appeared in his eyes. “I’ve finally found the Sky Spirit Flower.” The Sky Spirit Flower could only survive in cold surroundings with spiritual energy. It was no wonder that it grew below the ancient spring. It was good timing for Chase. The flower bloomed every ten years, and it would last only three days. It would wither after three days, and even its roots would die. There was no way of transplanting it or trying to propagate it to farm it. That was why it could barely be found on the market.

I will make him beg. A short, bitter smile curves my lips. I sniff, wipe my face with the back of my hand, and stare out the tall windows at the eternal storm. On the pillow beside me — I don’t notice it until the torchlight catches the petals — sits a single black snowflower. Rare. Impossible in this frozen hell. Petals like midnight velvet, stem still beaded with fresh snow. He must have hunted the mountain for hours to find it. No note. Just the flower.

“If it’s another dead animal, I’m lighting you on fire.” “Lesson learned,” I muttered, then revealed the flower. A single flamepetal, its orange-red glow still faintly pulsing. “Rare, sacred to witches, grows only during solstice droughts. I had to hike halfway up Blackthorn Hill to get it.” She blinked. “You brought me a flamepetal?” “Well,” I said. “I didn’t climb a hill for my health.” She crossed her arms. “So is this flirting or apologizing?” “Both,” I said without missing a beat.

It drew the direction of its growth from Nyx's waiting. In the final moment before she was sealed, Nyx had carved a brief command into the Void with her own lily-of-the-valley frequency. She had chosen a thistle instead of a lily, because the lily is the flower of the Mother of Wolves. She was already the last one. The last one must make way for the new. The new one will have her own flower. She planted the thistle to pave the road for her successor. Thistles can survive at seventy below zero. Can take root in that thin, narrow transition layer between frozen soil and permafrost.

Here, the stone walls felt like they were slowly closing in, trying to crush the wilderness right out of me. Desperate to feel closer to the ground, I bypassed the low stone benches. I walked directly into a thick patch of winter flowers, hardy, pale blue blossoms that thrived in the northern chill, growing alongside sprawling moonflower vines. Ignoring the heavy wool of my skirt, I lay down entirely within the bed of flowers, letting the cold earth take my weight. I closed my eyes, breathing in the sharp, crisp scent of frost, pine, and crushed petals, trying to find a single shred of relief.

I asked. "Any ideas?" Lis asked. What should we name it? "Women support group?" Sussie suggested. "We can't be that obvious. We'll receive a lot of resistance." Tille explained. "Hmmm… How about the Plum Blossom Appreciation Club?" I asked. "Plum Blossom?" Lis asked. "Yeah, plum blossoms are flowers that bloom even during the winter. It's a flower that symbolizes perseverance and hope." I answered. "Wow, that sounds noble." Tille commented.

He said, "Uhmm…" I hummed, "One more thing, can you suggest a good sensitive flower that can brighten someone's day up perfectly just by the first sight," I ignored the curious scowl on Vitali's face, "Well, good timing because after our last visit to Kristen's home I took an interest in flowers," He smiled suggestively, I nodded interestingly, "That is nice, so what do you suggest?" "I suggest Lobelia, Lavender, and Mountain Rose Succulent. These two are perfect." He said,

I hope that news will at least distract her, even if my beast is still clawing at my skull with the anger he has no idea where to direct. Something at the bottom of the golden wreath catches my eye and I lean in closer to get a better look. five silver flowers poke up from amidst the wolfsbane. In the centre is a lily, either side of that a daffodil, and beside each daff is a daisy.

Sibyl’s POV A breeze came and I smelled a very nice scent. The smell was light, mixed with the scent of roses and Lily of the valley, and a hint of post-rain grass. I sniffed, OH, it also has the smell of the Phoenix Flower. The Phoenix Flower is a nearly extinct flower. It is very strict with the temperature, light and humidity of the living environment, so it is difficult for them to survive. But their flowers are extremely beautiful and give off a fascinating smell.
