A border collie peers intently at me from a spot in the open gate. There’s a white stripe that runs up her nose between clear, brown eyes and the white around her mouth spills down her chest and along her belly. The way it covers her legs looks like she’s wearing long, white opera gloves. “You must be hungry. I’ve got rabbit cooking. Hang on while I get you some.”
