Hazel released a shrieking wail that echoed around the cave. "How is she doing this?" I asked. My dragons watched in disbelief. The vampire covered his eyes with his palms from the blinding glare. The beta and gamma just stood there staring, as if there was nothing they could do. James tried to get close to her, but the scorching heat forbade him. I held Julia under my arm as she shook in pain. Hazel's mate, however, reached his hand out to her, and to my surprise, his hands bore past the flames as the fire consumed his body as well.

THIRD PERSON POV: Bella was shocked at how much strength Hazel possessed. She could sense them coming, but she wasn’t sure she would have caught them before they got to her. Hazel tore off the neck of the vampire in her hand, tossing it on the ground. Then they both turned around to see the vampires had surrounded them. “They came just in time,” Hazel remarked with a smile spreading across her lips. She was eager to try out her new powers. They were surrounded by almost fifty vampires, but she didn’t care.

"Okay, we’re here. The security guards are watching me; nothing’s going to happen. Don’t worry. Go back now. If you wait any longer, Chrissy might already be asleep."
