Memories Drift Away with the Wind
Didn't you give Harper the peach spritzer first?
Todd never responded. A few minutes later, the group chat was disbanded.
...
A colleague called me back for a nap. I agreed, switching off my phone.
On my way back to the office, the wind began to pick up. While waiting at a red light, I suddenly remembered our graduation day, when a fierce gust of wind had blown my cap clean off.
Todd had chased it down and gently placed it back on my head.
"That moment was stunning," he had said, his eyes filled with warmth. "When we take our wedding photos in the future, we'll swap the cap for a veil. When it flutters in the wind, you'll look beautiful."
