I sighed and pulled it out of my pocket, glancing at the screen with a frown. It was Mia. Maeve saw the name as well and I saw her face shifting into a frown. “Hello?” I said into the phone. “Xaden!” Mia cried. “I need you! Please hurry!!”

I yanked my arm free from his grip, meeting his burning gaze with steady eyes. "It fell to the ground the day you came to my den," I said calmly, each word deliberate. "The shards are still on the table. Go see for yourself if you don't believe me."

I said as I walk out of the bathroom. "Fine. You're going to miss a lot of these," he said and I ignored him. "The offer is still up," he said as I walk away. Alex groaned in annoyance before closing the door. I rolled my eyes and walked back to the garden. I sat on the outdoor couch and scrolled through my phone as I wait for Alex to finish in the bathroom. After a while, a shadow loomed over me and I look up to see Alex hovering above me with only a towel covering his lower half.
