-LYKOAN’S POV- Resentment boiled low in my chest. "If she dies, so will you,” I roared, eyes locked on Nia as I jumped over Boaz’s dead wolf. “Go to hell. Don’t come any closer or my claws will rip her throat.” Zebeon negotiated with panic in his tone, positioning a hand at Nia’s neck and trying to hide behind a tree trunk. “My sister for her.”

Rifles were loaded and blades hummed in the gray morning light. Nia sat on the cold gravel path. The weight of the dead elder was heavy across her knees. Blood pooled around her clothes, soaking through the fabric. She did not move. She did not even try to wipe the crimson stains from her hands. Her eyes were wide, staring blankly at the brick wall in front of her. Kiera stepped forward instantly. She threw herself between the weapons and Nia. Her hands were raised high in the air to show she was unarmed. Her face was pale, but her eyes were fierce with protective rage.

He sighed deeply, like a man finally letting go of a heavy burden. "Ella… Amanda refused to be my second mate. So now… I have no choice but to name her my Luna." My heart stopped. But before I could say a word, he rushed to explain. "Ella, you know… Luna is just a title. In my eyes, there's no difference between you two. You're both my mates. I just want you to let her have the title because she's young and doesn't understand the traditions of our pack. But you—you're the one I truly rely on. You're understanding, wise, considerate… everything she's not. I promise, she'll only hold the title, but the real Luna—the one who leads beside me—is you.

I carry her power, but I am not her.” For the first time, hesitation flickers across their expressions. The truth shakes them. But one of them isn’t willing to accept it. Kaiden Nightwalker, the most volatile of the three, steps forward. His jaw clenches, his dark presence crackling with raw energy. “No.” His voice is firm. Unyielding. “I feel it. You are mine.” Jasmine shakes her head. “You’re wrong.” But Kaiden doesn’t listen. In the blink of an eye, he moves. A rush of dark energy explodes through the arena, and before I can react, he’s gone. And so is Jasmine

Whatever they did to him was less than he deserved. The rest of the journey was more or less without events. As news of Nio and his deeds spread, whoever met them on the road made way in a hurry. Nia was easy to spot, a handsome elf with reddish blond hair and with a large scar starting at his left temple and ending just below his ear. Plus, the human and the goblin with him were a dead giveaway.

He was leaning against the counter, his eyes never leaving my mom as she worked. Bryan cursed and tossed the bag on the counter. “So they were just going to break the vow of the challenge. Is that what Cato said? That it was there?” Hector nodded. “That he had that, along with some other items. But that being the most damaging of them all.” “What is it?” I picked up the bag. There looked to be twenty or thirty tablets in the bag. They were colored a milky blue color and were tiny round discs. “What we are calling it is Nova 2.0.” Bryan answered, glaring at the bag.

Nia’s freaking out. She keeps flicking her gaze toward the emergency exit. If I give her the nod, she’ll create a distraction. I just don’t think my limbs would cooperate. I try to give her a reassuring smile, but even my lips feel weird and disconnected. My mate can’t be Cadoc Collins, but even if it’s not, there’s still no good choice. A nob would be hell. I’ve watched Drona and Geralt. He gets bigger year after year, and she gets dimmer.

Nia replies instantly, treating my basic refusal as a signed guarantee. "You have been hyper-focused on that electronic screen since the broth was served, female," Kael rumbles from across the table, his golden eyes narrowing into dangerous slits as he drops his heavy silver fork against the porcelain plate. "Is the lower-sector chatter truly more engaging than sharing a ration with the Supreme Alpha?" I clear my throat, sliding the screen into my leather pocket. "Nia Bello just initiated a network link. She is offering her absolute submission and begging me to intercede regarding her modeling contract."

His claws itched, but not in anger — in awe. A wave of silver light bloomed from Nova, washing over the field in an impossible glow. Her armor shimmered, as though forged of moonlight itself. Her voice rang out, soft yet infinite. “I choose the world.” Steel fell silent. Breath stilled. Wolves whimpered. But from the chaos surged a figure — Naira. Her eyes were blazing, her blade hungry for blood. “You cannot take this from me!” she cried, charging through the battlefield with a scream that cut like steel.
