When Best Friends Kiss
“Do you have a new team you’re playing for? Or just a new best friend you hang out with?”
I frowned at him, confused. “I’m not playing for another team, Laurel,” I said bluntly, and then added, “And my best friend is still Rory.”
Laurel blew a raspberry. “I meant me, your second best friend and your number one male friend.”
I sighed again, and this time it was accompanied by a frustrated groan.
“I don’t understand what you’re saying, Laurel,” I said.
“We haven’t been able to hang out since the suspension. I’ve been feeling guilty, like you’re angry with me or something,” Laurel said.
