CHAPTER 2 XEN Xen was more of a lone hunter than his brothers Kane and who Kai who worked as a duo, the two couldn't separate on quest. They understood each other very very well than they did with Xen.Xen's eyes were now no longer blue, they were converting to dark black. He was hungry and tired of being in the forest hunting for a werewolf girl called Lisate. Xen had a picture of Lisate in her back pocket. He could take it out- sit down and study it for as long as he would wish. The picture of Lisate looked exactly like her centuries ago lover Merisa.He wished that this would better be true because sometimes pictures lie. He couldn't wait to meet Lisa and see if she really resembled Merisa.

Zayyan muttered from behind, making Rhys frown. Xenos cut him a look before leaning against the desk in front of the coffee table and sofa. Rhys looked at the large oil painting behind the desk and wondered if it had been stolen. It was quite a masterpiece and something that could be found in a palace. Xenos’ large form would be intimidating to others. His finer clothing revealed he liked to splurge coin on clothing that looked out of place in such a grotty establishment. One thing was for sure, though, Rhys knew who Xenos was.

AVA’S POV After the grand walk-in of those men in tailored suits with their leader, Vincenzo, who had me on chokehold, not because of his handsomeness, but because of the aura emitting from him, everything changed. The garbage sector helped more than anything else in this galaxy, but she was still five months pregnant with three babies, and her body was starting to remind her that she was not made of metal. The idea of changing the book’s ending was still too fresh, but if she could do it, she needed to try. The problem was those women. Sure, Xen was out, but what about Blake and Valerian? She sat there, trying to juggle her memory, wondering if maybe she should have focused more while reading it.

He fishes a huge dusty book from the cupboard and places it on the table. “You see, centuries upon centuries ago, the realms lived in peace. All the gods did their assigned tasks and together maintained balance and harmony. But then," he sighed and turned to me. “ But then, Nythros decided to become one greedy bastard and demand for the supreme power." “Urgh, what a greedy bastard!" I mutter. “He rebelled against the gods, went to the human realm and met humans who were greedy for powers that weren't supposed to be theirs to begin with. He infected them with his magic and turned them into monsters.”

But if I told them the truth, maybe they would take me back to Thornwood. “A werewolf.” I said as loud as I could muster. Collective gasps broke out around me. Gasps of shock and disdain. I dragged my gaze around, confused by their reaction. Wait, he did say this was the ‘Dragon Keep’. The memory of when I came across a book about Dragons rushed into my mind. “...dragons are egoistic creatures who think they're better than everyone. They hung our kind for sport. They're monsters, Eloise…” Mae had told me that day.

He mindlinked him, and he nodded, sniffing. "What the fuck is going on here?" A familiar voice asked behind them, making Hashmuk let go of Rasmore. The person standing behind them was the person he was crying for, thinking he had left him. It was Kelvin, with a pile of magic books in his hands. He and his friends smelled like they were coming from the sewer.

"I haven't read of him in your history." Marcus owned the only known text of beastkind and vampire lore in North America. He brought the heavy volumes with him when he left Europe. Amy was fascinated by the history that humans would find dark but fanciful, similar to Grimm's Fairy Tales. Much of the text was handwritten, which Amy spent hours deciphering. Her journalistic background needed an outlet and the books provided her with the tools to try to understand who and what she really was.
