But Olivia couldn’t hear her anymore. Her mind was screaming. She saw flashes, Corbin smiling, the emails, the forged letters, the camera footage. Someone had built this trap piece by piece.
The bailiff brought in more equipment. The video replayed again, zoomed in. It looked exactly like her. The same tone, same gestures, same tiny scar near her lip.
The jury looked horrified.
“I never said that,” Olivia whispered. “I never confessed.”
The prosecutor turned toward the jury. “This is the truth. She confessed in her own words. What else do we need?”
