Yelena Belova Novels & Stories

"Don't hate him too much, Evelyn. He was a child when they took him. He was raised to be a lie. I know he may have been cruel because he was thought by those stupid Americans to be so. Give him a chance to find out who Yamelyan and maybe you can find out who the woman behind the Chairperson is, too." I wrapped the towel around me, feeling the coarse fabric against my skin. "I’m not sure I want to know her. She’s currently hiding in a slum in Murmansk." "She’s currently the only woman who can make a Vor’s son look like a kicked dog," Lenochka winked. "That’s a power worth keeping." We walked back to the apartment, our shoulders brushing, the tension between us replaced by a fragile, humid bon

I hadn’t experienced anything even resembling peace in days. “You need to move back from the window. The voice belonged to Elena. She said it the way she said everything, without warmth, without apology, as if words were nothing more than tools she wielded to achieve an end. She was in her mid-forties, lean-jawed, with silver running through her dark hair and eyes that never stopped for long upon anything. She had been identified by Victoria as ex-Mossad. And it seemed entirely right to me when I looked at her now.

DMITRI “Have I ever told you that I like this new you?” Yelena’s voice drips with amusement as she lounges on the sofa in the corner of my office. Her legs are crossed, a playful pout on her lips. “Everyone says it’s impossible to change a man set in his ways, but Ana’s a magician.” I stare at the bouquet sitting on my desk, my eyes narrowing. “How?” Yelena uncrosses her legs, strolling over to my desk with her usual air of confidence. She pulls out the chair across from me and sits down, her gaze fixed on the flowers. “Did you pick these out yourself?” she asks, her tone teasing.

Although I was used to being around classy people like this, it didn't mean I enjoyed the stiff atmosphere and boring business conversations. “You must be Belva Moguel.” I stiffened. She didn't seem surprised at my reaction. Instead, she just smiled deeper. I tilted my head, trying to remain calm. “And who are you?” She held out a hand. “Valeria Mikhailova.” I shook her hand hesitantly. “You know me?” Valeria took a glass of champagne from a passing waiter, though she only held it without actually drinking it. “I've been working at Romanov International since ten years ago.”

I can’t decide if I should make him breakfast, an extra-large coffee, or six shots of vodka, as he looks really exhausted like a tired pigeon. Ryan nods without giving me any attention while his hands' movement increases. He looks like Flash working with papers in a government bank. I leave him to do his work and walk towards my table. *Tring* "Hello?" I speak as I get seated in my chair. "Ethan! Hi, this is Rita. How are you?" A flirtatious, girlish voice comes from the phone. This bitch.

“And she’s…” Evelyn’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t compare yourself to Lysandra. That girl doesn’t know love from obsession. And as for Delilah, let me make something clear; women will come and go in an Alpha’s life, Sienna. They always do. They will try to seduce him. Some will even sleep with him. Others will kiss him. They will openly flirt with him in front of you. You will be angry. You will fight him. And you are going to set boundaries. But these women come and they go. What matters… is the woman who stays. What matters is the woman who stands by her side until the very end. Because if I'm going to be very realistic, there's always going to be someone that is younger, more beautiful, more gr

"Before he died. Did he know my mother was here. Did he know about the fellowship, about you, about" "No," she said. Simply. "Aleksei Volkov was my lawyer for eighteen months, twelve years ago, for an unrelated property matter. He was good at his job and I liked him and when he died I sent flowers because that is what you do." She looked at me. "I did not know he had a connection to you. I did not know you existed until two years ago when a coat appeared on a runway in a collection called Reyes and I looked up the designer and found Elena's last name attached to someone who moved the way Elena moved and worked the way Elena worked."

Only her chest expanded slightly deeper, compensating for the oxygen that had suddenly grown thin. Behind his mother, Victor didn’t shift his gaze even a fraction. “Pardon?” Elena’s voice emerged in a tone of confusion—constructed with extraordinary precision. Svetlana took one step forward. Her hands—veined, adorned with inherited rings, but still formidable—rose and touched Elena’s cheek with care. “The most elegant woman I’ve ever encountered, and those eyes—” her voice dropped, catching somewhere in her throat, “—no one who has ever seen them has truly been able to forget them.”

“You have one hour.” The transmission ended. Seraphina looked at the board. “Who is working with Black Veil?” Nobody moved. Then one woman slowly stood. “I am.” The room erupted. Adrian raised his gun. Lucien grabbed Seraphina’s arm. The woman didn’t run. Instead, she smiled. “My name is Elena Voss.” Nadia stared at her. “You’ve served the Vale Network for twelve years.” “Yes.” “You helped build our security system.” “Yes.” “And you betrayed us?”

"Now, are you going to tell us whose scent that is and who gave you those ghastly bruises or...?" "Bella found her mate, a Russian Alpha named Xander, who as your typical Alpha, wanted to take her back to the pack immediately. I said no. We had a fight in my kitchen, I won and he agreed to stay here until she's happy to go with him which means in the meantime Ella and I are staying here too," Leo explained very quickly. "So Bella's mate, a Russian Alpha, is upstairs right now?" Elena asked. "Precisely," Leo said.
