~Ezinne~ Minutes later, Delilah had finished adorning me in my attire, and I looked splendid in the reflection that greeted me from the mirror. While I was fully capable of dressing myself, Delilah's expert touch as a professional stylist made the experience distinctly enjoyable. I watched her carefully through the mirror as she placed the final piece of jewellery on me, reflecting the light with a subtle shimmer. I had seen all the exchanges between her and Kael—the stolen glances filled with unspoken words, her cheeks tinted with colour whenever he passed, their fingers brushing and clinging briefly. Catching her eye in the mirror, I offered her a knowing smile, to which she responded with

“He has my kid. How can I go against him? He will kill my baby. I ...” A tense silence stretched between us as Delilah muttered under her breath, talking to herself. I almost jumped when she grasped my legs and looked up, pleading piteously. “I am begging you, Candice. Only you can help me in this vast world.” ... I didn’t know what Delilah meant when she begged me, as before I could gather more information, she lost consciousness. Her limp body fell to the ground like a tree in a storm. “God! This is amazing!”

[Years Later] After Delilah’s death was confirmed three years ago, the world had moved on. Her name was barely remembered except by a few Ava, Adrian, and Chase. I was the one who pulled the poison from your system after your brother attacked you.” “Oh, well then. I, uh, I owe you my life. Thank you.” I want to bow my head, but I can’t bring myself to look away from her eyes, which seem to have changed color to a lighter shade of blue.

Delilah is originally from Mississippi and hates when we remind her of it, something I do often. "Remind me what your name was again." Delilah was stunned. Jax had given Delilah’s name as a souvenir, on a platter of gold, when he’d moaned it while fucking her. How dare Emilia think her stupid? What stupid game did she think she was playing? Delilah let the silence stretch between them. Little did Emilia know, she was playing a game she’d never win. "Delilah," the younger woman said, “My name is Delilah.”

Delilah stood outside the pack house, watching through the window as Kara and disappeared down the hallway. Her nails dug into her palms. This wasn’t over. Zarek could say whatever he wanted. He could choose Kara, defend her, carry her around like she was something precious. But Delilah had spent too many years by his side to let some weak little human steal everything she’d worked for. Not now. Not ever. She turned, disappearing into the darkness, already planning her next move. And this time, she wouldn’t fail.

I interjected, my voice tinged with frustration as I stared at Delilah, hoping she would finally understand. "Please, let her speak," Margaret cautioned, her eyes filled with a mix of anticipation and concern. Undeterred by my interruption, Delilah continued, her voice laced with a touch of awe. "Our friend here is the plainest amongst us all. She was born for great things. It's incredible that she still wears human skin when she's truly a goddess. She had a one-on-one encounter with Derenzantrafiakiloma, the one who reads minds. That entity visited her in human form," Delilah revealed, causing our eyes to widen in astonishment.

"She's my Deli. She's my future mate!" "She's mine! Delilah belongs to me!" Elijah snapped, his voice booming. "I will never give her to anyone, especially not to you, Jeremy Davenport!"
