He wrapped his arm around her shoulders gently, tenderly, as if she were the only thing that mattered now.
"Let's go," he said quietly.
"Dad… Mom," Celine called, her voice cracking under the weight of fear. "You can't leave me here."
Johnson helped Megan stand slowly. She leaned against him, exhausted, broken, but still standing.
They didn't respond.
They didn't look back.
Together, they turned and began walking toward the exit door.
Each step echoed like a final goodbye. Like the closing of a chapter that should never have been written.
"Dad, Mom, don't go!" Celine's cry filled the entire room, bouncing off the concrete walls, desperate and raw.
