Zeus Affairs Novels & Stories

At the far end, Zeus sat with one leg over the other, eyebrows furrowed in deep concentration as he focused on his phone. Zeus had been studying in Italy for several years now, pursuing a path he had chosen with admirable determination. Zebbie was in France, embracing independence in her own gentle and quiet way. Only Zuhair remained here with us, filling the house with his mischief and loud laughter that kept our home alive.

Zeus — your mate — is hurting from what you said. “Are you taking their side?” I asked sharply. No… but I can feel that. Whatever Zack decided, Zeus isn’t part of it. He would have fought to stop him from rejecting you back then, Celeste explained. I ignored her. If Zeus cared, he would have intervened. He’s weak. “Zoe, you, okay?” Lucas’s hand gently held mine. He noticed my swelling knuckles. “Let me get some ice.” He returned with an ice pack. “Is he your mate?”

Zeus replied to me in a gentle tone as he laid me back down on the bed. I knew he wanted me to fall asleep. There was something happening between Zeus and Zaric. Zaric was quiet again and Zeus was also keeping everything to himself. Maybe I was just horrified by the fact that Zeus was having second thoughts. "He said we shouldn't gather them together. I want to know why he was all paranoid about that." I added further in a low tone, pushing them both to answer my questions.

I narrow my eyes at him. " What do you mean by that?" I ask, suddenly alarmed. What does he know about my private life? I have made sure to keep everything away from the eyes of the cops. " I know that you took down Lizard." Zeus states and this time,I actually pull my gun and point it at him,a glare fixed on his face. " You have been spying on me?" I probe,my voice dangerously low. " I could kill you right here and dispose off your body and no one would ever find out." I threaten. Zeus raises his hand in surrender.

“Yeah. He’s… dealing with things.” “Don’t you guys have some super intense family therapy or something?” “Oh, definitely not,” he replies. “We bottle everything up and then explode dramatically at dinner.” “Healthy.” “I know, right?” He tosses my book back to me gently. “Speaking of dinner, you’ll never guess what happened two nights ago.” I raise an eyebrow. “If it’s more rogue attacks or shady family politics, I might actually cry.” “Worse,” he says, leaning in like he’s about to spill the biggest secret of the century. “Zeus is getting married soon.”

The week flies by in a blur. Miles is still ignoring me, so I haven't invited him back into my bed, and Aphelion left Wednesday to go and speak with his father. Zeus wasn't happy to learn from Hermes that Aphelion had called off his engagement to Hilda without consulting him first. From what Beckett had told me, there was no tension between Thor and Zeus and talks of an uprising.

By this time my heart is already in my throat, accompanying the lump that formed immediately. “What?” I say, baffled. “What are you talking about?” “What’s all these? Why the hell are you suddenly going out with my brother?” He frowns, hand slowly tightening around my wrist. “No, you're mistaken. I didn't know you're Sebastian's brother. I don't have plans or anything! This is all simply a coincidence!” I protest, in the process of trying to get out from his grasp. But he's way too strong and persistent. “Don’t give me that bullshit, Keila. If you ever do something or tell my brother any clue about what happened to us. You're gonna get yourself in trouble,” Jordan warns, eyes glowing red.

Zeus stared coldly at the scene in front of him. In Europe, he, Zeus, had killed and set fire to every crime imaginable. This was not the first time he had done this, nor was it the cruelest time. Previously, an enemy spy had been captured. Zeus tortured the spy to death and even found the spy’s fiancée. This intelligence agent's fiancee was pregnant at the time, but she was abused by Zeus and the others. When someone discovered this, this fiancee had already bled too much, already powerless to reverse the situation after being sent to the hospital, dying together with her unborn child.

Zeus stepped forward. What he said he said simply and without dressing it up. The anger over his brother, the contact he couldn’t identify, the information he had passed, the schedules and border positions and compound details he had fed into the dark without fully understanding what they were being used for. He said all of it standing still with his hands at his sides and his voice carrying the particular flatness of someone who has stopped protecting themselves. When he finished the silence was complete. Liah’s face had gone still. Selene was very still in a way that looked suspicious. Kael was looking at Zeus like he was looking at someone he didn’t recognize.

Zeus gazed at his grandson, stroking his hair with deep pride as he told me: "Olympus is about to welcome its most powerful heir yet! I will train the two of you to become the supreme rulers of the divine realm!" I squeezed my son’s warm little hand, exchanging a knowing smile. Those dark days of being spat on as a "mortal whore" and an "illegitimate bastard" were over. We were never looking back. Of course, news from the deep sea still drifted up to us occasionally. Hearing that Orion had abandoned his bride and bolted mid-wedding didn't stir a single ripple in my heart.
