she asks. “OH! I know that one! That’s the witch kid, right?” Xander asks. “Harry Potter,” Madelyn confirms. “Which house do you think you’d be in?” I ask her as we step off the elevator. “I’d like to say Gryffindor, but probably Huffle Puff. How about you?” “I’m Gryffindor all the way,” I say. “And, I’d bet you’d be a Gryffindor, too. You’re very brave.”

We spent almost forty five minutes at the meeting it was all talk about the the Raven which is the symbolic bird of our people which will only awaken when the hybrid comes to her full power, but if she is allowed to come to her full power outside the thumb of the witches it means she will have full control over the Raven and that means being able to control the witches which is why we have to kidnap her so she comes to her full power after forcefully making her access her powers through spells. After the meeting was over I took an excuse to go back to the house which I did , on getting home I found everywhere very empty and quiet so I decided to use the moment to learn my spells the one I wa

Since Gregory and Jamal are off in some massive alpha meeting with the witches on their side, I’m finally being treated like the prisoner so many wolves believe I am. Which means I’m stuck in the center of a pentagram, anchored by the five elements: earth, air, fire, water, and metal.

“Totally. I can do a few other nifty things too. But, we aren’t allowed to use these kinds of spells against other students. There’s no rule saying we can’t use them against humans.” “So, these kinds of spells, would I be able to do them too?” “Yes. My favorite is making the popcorn machine do its work without getting up from my bed.” “Awesome.” “Right?” Ariah screws up a candy wrapper between her fingers. “What’s your star sign?” “Leo. Why?” “Oooh, Leo wolves are feisty.” Her face scrunches up. “So this means your birthday is coming up soon. When? We should have a dorm party.”

She probably doesn't want me to speak, but at least I can show that I'm paying attention. "At Magic Academy, there are four houses, each one representing an element and its values. The mirror exists to sort you into one of those houses, and usually, it picks the houses where you will grow as a person." Not in the water house then. My grandmother continues speaking. "The water house values beauty and change. The students placed in that house often see the grace in nature and are resilient to change, usually able to tackle every challenge life gives them." I glance at Daisy. She plants her arms under her chest. I notice every student standing in her group is wearing white and blue. It's probab

He knew that the others were always being unfair to her, of course he never allowed anything extreme to happen to her, at least during classes. Atarah stood up slowly, there was nothing beautiful about that question anyway. Anyone of these numb skulls could easily read a book or something to get the answer. "The twelve months of a year ranging from January to December all have different affinities when the moon shines out, for example those born on the month of May are regarded as fire wolves or maybe august as lightning wolves......." That was enough, Atarah could proudly sit down and take a rest, avoid being in the spotlight but a foolish grin formed on her face and she continued.

’ She bit her lip and held back a sigh. She knew about the sorting system. It was all in the handbook. There were four houses students were sorted into based on, obviously, what type of supernatural they were. Lupercalia for werewolves, Nosferatu for vampires, Ignis, and Antheion for phoenixes and faes, respectively. Humans would be sorted into one of them based on which they had the most affinity to. But according to the Headmaster, it was better for Layla to stay in a rundown cabin instead of endangering the lives of other students. “I stay in a separate dorm,” Layla simply stated, hoping she doesn’t question further.

"Ravenbane's intense but you get used to it. I'm a second year student. I’m a Siren. You?" "Witch-wolf." I grabbed my bag from under the seat. "Hybrid." "Oh, cool! We don't get many of those. Well, we do, but not that specific combo." She stood up as the bus stopped. "What house are you in? I'm in Lunar Hall. Mostly water-based students. Makes sense for sirens, right? Though last year they put a fire elemental with us and that was a whole disaster. Someone's room flooded, someone else's caught fire, very dramatic—"

And, almost always, you're born with only one type of magic. Which one? You can't simply decide to become a wizard. You either have the gift, or you don't. And, if you don't, you can jump through hoops, but it won't help you any. In total, there are seven types of magic. Four are elemental: air, water, fire, and earth. Three are spiritual: life, death, and mind. Out of them all, death mages are the least popular; they're also called necromancers. But we aren't talking about them right now. So, if your gift is fire, you can do your best, but you'd never do anything with water, and if you can conjure air, mind is outside your skill set.
