Chapter 20 A few hours later, closer to 4 pm now, with only a few more hours of day light, they headed back to the old town to do some checking. Amber’s hearing was so strong that she picked up the zombies in the area. “Down that street to the right of the old malt shop, there a 2 hanging out right around there. I don’t hear any of the others. In fact, I only hear them for miles.” “Impressive hearing.” Alex turns the coroner and sees the zombie pair down the street. As he approaches slowly, they look up and run. However, Amber is out of the car before even Dominic and is right on them in a flash. She recognized them as Henry’s parents.

Sunlight slanted over the corpse. The air was filled with an indescribable stench of decay, so intense it was suffocating. My skin had taken on a sickly grayish-green hue, swollen beyond recognition. I dropped the bag cos it was weighing me down. We held hands as we ran for our lives. While running, we saw a light behind the zombies coming for us, and to our surprise, a jeep sped right through the zombies, crushing some in the action. It parked right in front of us.

Claire asked. “What I mean is the natural resources around you that are dangerous to the undead. Sunlight for instance. Now, most of these creatures are not as active during the day. They cause mayhem at night mostly. This is not to mean they don’t walk during the day, they do. That’s when they scout their targets for the night. “You just need to know how to identify them from the rest of the crowd. Since they hate sunlight, they walk under the shades, sunglasses on and, sometimes when it’s had to avoid, they carry around umbrellas.

She slowly walked towards the crowd zombies without fear as she wanted to try if these zombies really ignored her or just cannot notice her.
