Royal Road Novels & Stories

The Royal Crimson Bar lived up to its reputation. Creatures of the night and humans mingled as they raised their drinks to the air and danced to the beat of the bustling music. The night hasn't yet reached its peak but humans flocked to this place without regard to the safety code the World Government established to protect them from the creatures of the night. Fifty years ago, the world dramatically changed after a phenomenon struck it with the revelation that the creatures of the night really exist and not some type of fiction that could be read in novels.

Sebestian gaze darted around when he and Allen stepped from the portal, his eyes taking in every detail with one quick scan, realising it was still a little light out as the sun was setting. His eyebrows raised in a silent question to his mate when he recognised where they were. King's Road in Chelsea, London. He looked up at the club owned by the fairy leader of London, JuJu.

I might not check in with my mother for a day or two, but Maria is always calling me daily, wanting to know about my day-to-day habits and if there's a reason why I've given up on God. I haven't given up on the big old guy. There are just some connection problems that have gotten in the way. Maria is a protestant, and she has raised me to be deeply religious, while my royal family is Catholic, and they attend church like a lone sheep lost on its way home, departed from the herd. They are good at covering it up, though. They would pretend to be deeply religious like the godforsaken animals we all are whenever it comes to our attention. Especially if it's going on air to be broadcasted on the

I stared at it. It had called me mother. The creature bowed. “The child has awakened the road.” “What road?” The creature pointed to the floor. “The First King's Road.” The stone under us cracked. A path appeared. It stretched from the staircase to the center of the castle. Then it continued upward. Straight to the throne room. Kael looked at me. “Why is it leading there?” Orion answered. “Because the Northern Crown isn't the key anymore.” “What is?” Orion's eyes settled on my son. “His first breath.” I looked down. “What?” I asked.

Mom had been a really stubborn Queen. There was a time in the palace back at England when the masses where getting angry because the paid taxes weren’t used to build roads. Her husband had withdrawn and panicked because they came to rally. Mum, as fierce as ever, had organized a public royal hearing. She addressed the people and convinced them why the money should be used for food and health first. She made it known that it was a basic necessity of life. That she would allocate the building of roads if the people were patient enough.

The bustling city is filled with smells and sounds that I had forgotten during the treacherous journey. The thousands of colours that paint my diverse kingdom and the equally diverse people who bring it to life and give it meaning. The ones who give me meaning. There are five main roads that point in the direction of each of our neighboring countries, a sign of peace amongst us, but the Pasiphaen route had been empty since the day of the massacre.

there were the broad white roads leading up to the royal tombs, the beautiful temples, the buildings where oxen and sheep were prepared for sacrifice, the lofty towers, and the high tree-covered hills under which the emperors were buried. Until that night Bamboo had not known the size of this royal graveyard. Could it be that the turtle would carry him beyond the forest? even as he asked himself this question he saw that they had reached a mountain, and the turtle was ascending higher, still higher, to cross the mighty wall of stone.

I replied. “But only the royal family knew the route and the details of this meeting,” the Guardian said thoughtfully, a clear accusatory tone in his voice. “We sent the remaining soldiers and carriages along our original route. Locate them, please,” the Prince instructed. One of the advisors stood, retrieving an ancient scroll and spreading it across the table. The rune of location—I knew it well. Intricate with intertwined symbols and lines, its circular shape seemed to pulse with dark energy, radiating a powerful aura.

Maison intercepted it with brutal efficiency, his larger wolf form slamming into the attacker with bone-crushing force. More enemies poured from the forest, their numbers far greater than the initial howls had suggested. This wasn't just a raiding, this seemed to be trying to stop the full prophecy from coming to pass, but what Royal line was he even talking about? All four Royal houses fell in the Great Werewolf War. What the hell is he talking about? The Royal Line was a myth, a legend told to pups before bedtime—the original werewolf bloodline from which all others supposedly descended. If that was real...
