The artist was a punk rock girl named Zoe who didn't ask questions when I told her I needed them to last at least two months. "What kind of look are you going for?" she asked while setting up her equipment. "Bad girl. Someone who's been around the block and doesn't take crap from anybody." Zoe grinned. "I can work with that." She gave me a dragon wrapped around my left forearm, a skull with roses on my right shoulder, and a compass with "Lost but not Broken" underneath it on my lower back. The tattoos looked completely real and would fool anyone who didn't try to scrub them off.

Zoro sighed, before walking over to where I was seated. I started off by asking him if he has a girlfriend or a mate, and about his family. Zoro's face darkened at the mention of family, and anger oozed from every pore in his body. I quickly changed the topic and asked him about things he likes, but I only got a terse reply from him. Flourishes that match the furniture fill the background of the painting. In between her first and middle name is a silhouette of a howling wolf. From behind me, I hear a little gasp.

"Join me." Zoe turned to face Emma again. "Go on," Emma said. When Zoe sat down next to Ezra on the couch, she avoided looking at him. "Do you like dolls?" he asked. "Dolls are just for babies," Zoella replied. Ezra felt a bit odd when she finally looked his way. His eyes briefly met Emma's before returning to Zoe. "So, what do you like?" "I love painting. Would you like to see my paintings?" Zoe asked with a big smile. She was starting to feel more comfortable. She was staring at him so intently; how could he say no to seeing her artwork?

Sure, he's abrasive, but I don't think he's that bad. I look at the blank canvas before me. Paints at the ready. I look around my little corner at the beautiful landscapes, the portraits of random people. These pictures are the expressions of my heart. I find comfort in them. My eyes scan the portraits one by one, trying to find inspiration, when my eye travels to a corner I rarely venture to look at.
